How important is the central leadership of a team?

There is no doubt that it is very important,you need someone with managerial skills to lead within the team,he is able to see the big picture of the work going on,to engsge others,coordinate interpersonal relationship snd organise resources effectively.
Athough a small team is more closely-knit,members know each other well and can coorperrate with each other more effectively,however,advantangs which the big team has do become more and more atractive.

Yes, it is really important because as team manager or team leader, you are the one who knows the strong points and the weaknesses of your team members. You know their potential and you know when and how they work best so it is really important because you will be the one who will be leading, motivating, and making them work as a team in harmony while maximizing each ones potential towards the common goal of the group.
