Based on a British review of the studies done over the past 50 years, organic and conventionally produced foods have about the same nutrient content suggesting that neither is better in terms of health benefits. They found no noted differences between conventional and organic crops with regard to vitamin C, calcium, zinc, copper content.

I agree with the others, although they may contain the same amounts of nurrients it is the pesticides and chemicals which make organic the better choice. I find that organic does taste a lot better than the conventional stuff, especially when it comes to meats and eggs.

i'm nt surprised that they have the same vitamins, but what i'm more concerned with is the amount of harmful chemicals they have. there are pesticides that can cause cancer and i would have to have it in my food. There are foods however that can be harmful even if grown organically. I'm personally not a big fan of soy, it's a very healthy product and has twice as much protein as meat does, but it takes in all the chemicals it has around. with acid rains and poor ecology it's a lot of chemicals. So whenever i can i avoid even organic soy.

Organic and non organic may have the same nutrients but still organic is better because it has not been sprayed with chemicals for insects and not been fertilized with chemicals either. Chemical herbicides are not used for weed control in organic farming. Organic foods aren't treated with waxes or preservatives. Organic meat animals are not given antibiotics, growth hormones and medications. These chemicals make it to the market in the foods.

But what about the stuff like pesticides that are sprayed on conventionally grown foods.are they testing the foods that are conventionally grown before or after they process them. Some foods are radiated, are they tested after they do this. I bet they are not. They are not in the food that is grown organic. It is all the added stuff that is making us sick.
I will stick to the organically grown food, and not take any added chance on my health.

Food grown with artificial fertilizers may have same nutrient content as organic one, but it is also affected by chemicals, like bug poison or pesticides and I can't say that they are beneficial, I would rather say they can affect our health in a bad way.
It isn't nutritional data that makes people choose organic products, it's fear of being affected by chemicals found in "super market food". So do I. I prefer organic food to one grown somewhere outside my country and brought here from abroad, because it contains preservatives (I mean, apples can't stay fresh during whole year, can they?). I have my own garden, where I grow everything, starting with peas and tomatoes and ending with pears and cherries. I like food grown in my garden the best, because I can be sure that it is grown in natural way, without nothing artificial added.

Oh, we have some other system of gardens in that place where I live. I live in small town, in apartment building. My garden isn't actually situated right behind my house, it lies some 100-200m away from it. There is like garden complex formed here, lots of people have their own garden on that garden strip. Our town is small as I said, it is even rather hamlet or something. There are no big industries nearby and my garden isn't placed near the road too, so there are very few poisonous gases affecting it. My neighbors (people whose garden is near my) mainly don't use chemicals too. Their gardens are also separated from my with a row of bushes. I grow many of my vegetables in green house, where they are safe from harmful effects, so I can say they are quite 100% organic food, because even fertilizers I use are natural, taken from compost. To keep away harmful insects I use ordinary ashes, so no chemicals are used here too.

Even in my country they have been doing a lot of research lately.. but it's been like a decade and they have little progress because they don't have the support of the government. i think the world should put more effort in conducting studies on the

Wow.. This is interesting.. People paying much more for organic products then are basically just buying it because it's more expensive I guess then.. Sure, organic products don't use pesticides or chemicals, but hey, you wash the vegetables right? That should be good enough I guess to take away the pesticides. Besides, I wouldn't want to buy an organic cabbage and find a big chunk of worms or maggots inside.. That would be so creepy!!
LOL.. Thanks a lot for this information.. It's really eye opening.. Now I don't feel bad when my friends who buy organic stuff say that I'll die faster or whatever.. HAHAHAHa...

Not surprising, on the other hand organic is made with no pesticides, and you don't want to know what gets into the fruit/vegetables with the pesticides.
Its like saying,
this contaminated mineral water has as much minerals as this clean mineral water, so its just as good to drink! Nope, you have to analyse the totality of the fruit, not only vitamin C, calcium, etc..

I thought organic should be healthier than conventional, which in our place sometimes contain too much fertilizers, or anti-insect agents. I seldom buy organic for the high price, but what I buy are good taste when cooked, whether vegetables, rice, or other food.

I would be interested in where you found this information. It sounds like a US made study to try to discredit organics!!! However, even if they do not have more nutrient value, the way they are grown more naturally without chemicals or hormones to make them grow faster, and without pesticides. So I still will be voting for organic!! But thanks for sharing the information!

I refer that natural foods have the proper amount of minerals and vitamins as required by our body. The synthetic products do not supply the required and natural amount. So do u understand

I would say that minerals are much more in the required for the body as compared to synthetic ones.Oh yes its true that nutrition content decreases with the the time but still fresh and natural the way to go.

it may have the same vitamin content but organic is still a better choice even it cost more, in the long run, we can still save a lot of money if we have healthier bodies without and without ailments caused by these chemicals that are being sprayed on our fruits and vegetables.

even if they are not healthier they still have one thing and that is safety, you cannot compare organic foods with processed foods which contain unhealthy additives and preservatives which may lead to some common illnesses found in humans today, organic foods are also cheaper

Well, for me, I believe that organic food may not be healthier, and it might cause bad action for you when you are not used to eat them. I grew up in the suburbs and I always eat vegetables directly from my gardon, so we call them nature and health food, I do like them for ever.
