I have heard of people who have up to 8 cups of coffee a day. I could never imagine myself doing that. But then again I'm not much of a coffee drinker. Whats your total in a day? if you have a few why do you feel the need to have so many? Is coffee addictive?

I drink a pot of coffee as soon as ,I get up.Its not even done dripping and my cup is under the dispenser. Then in the early afternoon ,I drink another pot that one is normally 6 to 8 cups. If I really need a lift ,I will go to the coffee shop and buy a hyper bean 24 oz. cup. I am a full fledged addict,I love the taste, feel and cannot imagine life without it.I also drink it straight no sugar or creamI need the high test only.If my friends stop by they always remark what no coffee? silly birds they don't even drink it ,Just trying to get a rise out of me.

Water and coffee this is all ,I drink. Its funny that your friends drink coffee and mine can't stand coffee. They drink soda ! Now that is something you would never find in my house. Nor junk food,I try to eat as healthy as possible, coffee is a vise. I am up at 2:30 am most days ,because of insomnia so coffee gets my hubby off to work ,plus I get to work out. Sometimes I even take a nap while sipping on the second pot.I don't like anything that is dairy so milk or creamer would probably be the downfall of my coffee drinking days.

What a lot of coffee......at least you can admit that you are addicted...because not many people do. And as for straight coffee! thats just way to strong for me. I must always have milk & sugar in what ever I drink. Unless its water of course. Thats the first thing my friends want as soon as they get to my place is coffee even knowing that I dont really drink it myself..lol But I always make sure I have some in the cupboards just for my visitors. :o)

Hi. There are many other hot drinks you can drink that are much more healthier for you, I use to drink alot of coffee a few years ago, but now I might have only a couple of cups in one month only when Im with friends or out somewhere. Tea is a better alternative, however that has its limits also. You should try milo, cocoa, hot chocolate, hot milk, or Hot water, thiers so much to choose from.

Hi we all have a common knowledge that coffee is bad for our health but why do so many people really like to drink coffee as in likes... coz for them its really helpful to release stress,, head aches, sometimes if your addictive or too much caffeine the effect were you cant sleep.....
And unfortunately Im one of them. 3 to 4 cups a day,, my goodness I cant help it.. one in the morning, 1 mid morning...1 in the afternoon and 1 before bed...
for me it helps me to keep awake in the morning plus if i dont drink my stomach was painful....while in the evening I cant sleep if i dont drink coffee.. I know this is not good with my health,, and I think I need to do something to stay away with this bad habit....

yes coffie is edictable. if u drink more than 7 times cup of coffie per day it is more harmful to health. in coffie nicotin content is there it is killing our health simoultaniously.and same as tea also. i drink tea much but it is not more than coffie, tea also harmful. if u drink coffie at that time your nervious will activate rapidly. and your mind refresh. my suggisation is dont drink much like 8 times.just one or two cup its inough.

I agree with you totally, 8 cups is not good for your health. 1 or 2 cups is ok. Im just glad I dont drink coffee as much as I use to anymore. Maybe a cup once in a blue moon when Im at a friends place & there is nothing else, then I will have the odd cup otherwise I just have hotwater.

Hi shazz, as far as I know to take a certain amount of coffee regularly is good to the health of hour. If take more than 6 cups a day would effect the health of our body. So even though I'm a coffee lover I still insist not to take more than two cups of coffee in a single day.
The unique taste, as well as the aromatic fragrance of the coffee always makes me feeling energetic after having a cup of it. Hot coffee is the best drink for me to get refreshed when feeling tedious with the daily chore.
Have a nice day and happy posting

I am a coffee drinker. Not that I am addicted, but still I enjoy drinking coffee. I drink four or five cups a day, starting with the first for the day at breakfast time. It then goes on as the day proceeds. There is a coffee pot at my work place where we can enjoy as we like. I do prefer decaffinated coffee with cream and sugar.

Wow 8 cups? No kidding! I think 8 cups each day is way too much for anybody. I think I have had maximum 4 - 5 cups/glasses a day maybe. I try not to drink so much because it is sweet and too much coffee is no good.

Yip its amazing on just how many people do have that amount a day theirs probably some who may even top that. I think it is way to much for one person to have also. I suppose its similar to those that drink alot of fizzys in 1 day. Smae thing as far as caffeine goes. Thanks for you comments :o)

Glad to hear your dad has relized that coffee is no good for his health. I remember years ago when I use to have heart pulpatations, which is when your heart races really fast & wont slow down. Its scary at times because it feels like its so fast its just gonna stop on you. And thats the first thing the doctor told me give up the coffee & the smoking, because they were what was causing the problem. Took me awhile but I finally gave them both up. To this day no more racing heart. Thanks for commenting :o)

Normally I would have one cup of coffee a day. But there are times that I would have two or three cups in a day. It depends if a have my mom over or a friend that likes coffee because normally they would like to drink coffee when they come over to my house. But there are also days that I like to have a cup of coffee in the morning with my breakfast and one at night with a piece of bread or cookies instead of having a heavy diner. I don’t think that coffee is addictive well not for me I can also go days without drinking any coffee or even months.

I don't drink coffee and never have. I find the taste too strong and prefer to drink tea. I couldn't immagine drinking up to 8 cups of coffee per day. One of my grandmothers is truely addicted to coffees. If the family has lunch at a cafe she will have a coffee before the food comes out, one with the food and another after lunch and then amazingly she wants to stop at a little coffee shop closer to her house on the way home before going home and having another cup. So yes coffee can be incredibly addictive and many people start to rely on the caffine to get through the day.

8 cups is alot but a few people do drink that much. Your grandmother truely loves her coffee. I do believe that coffee is very addictive because of the caffiene in it. Im just pleased that I have cut right down & no longer drink as much as I use.

i dont really have any problems sleeping after drinking coffee, but i do get stomach aches something drinking coffee, so i try to limit myself to 1 cup at the most. in a week, i probably only drink two or three cups. i dont drink a lot of coffee just because id ont like to wait for coffee to brew in the morning. coffee does takes good, but its not addictive enough for me to drink it every day in the morning.

Its funny that! my 15 year old likes his coffee too but he tends to get an up set stomach after a cup also. If he had his way he would drink it all the time. But I limit his intake of coffee other wise he would drink it like a fizzy drink. I have only just started letting him have coffee but only 1 cup a day. Thanks for you comment :o)

On a normal day I make a pot of coffee in the morning then proceed to drink it all during the day/evening. If I run out of that pot too early I make cups of instant coffee. Coffee is something I have first thing in the morning and the last thing I have right before sleeping. I just like coffee
Is it addictive? Some say it is, others say no. I have no idea. But I can tell you that if I don't get my cup of coffee in the morning I am not pleasant to be around until I do get that coffee

Yeah I hear that to, some say it is, others say it isnt. When I use to drink so many cups a day I found it really hard to break the habit but I got through it. From my experience I would say it is addictive. But thats just my opinion! lol I no some people who are like that also they must have their morning cup or else look out..lol Thanks for commenting :o)

I almost always survive a day without coffee. I'm pretty scared to develop a dependence on coffee -- or on anything although I've developed a dependence on fiber capsules in the past year. Good thing those fiber capsules only help and don't cause any harm.
Coffee on the other hand seems to be a pretty expensive addiction. If I were to go for coffee, I'd rather go for the best that I can reach for. That means Starbucks frappuccinos! I take one around once a week and that's it :)

I've been having sleeping problems for most of my life, so I usually try to avoid drinking coffee too late in the day. I have one or two cups in the morning if I wake up early enough, but if I think it's going to affect how I sleep that night because it's too late in the day, then I'll just go without.
However, sometimes I treat myself to a blended coffee during the day. For some reason it doesn't have the same caffeinated effect as a hot mug in the morning.

I use to enjoy a hot cup of coffee first thing in the mornings the smell of it & evrything, but over the last two years for some strange reason I have just gone of it. The only time I have coffee now is when Im at a friends & they have nothing else but coffee then I'll drink it. Thanks for commenting :o)
