A while back, Willie Revillame, host of Wowowee announced that an anonymous donor gave him 2M in cold cash.
He made the announcement in his show and thanked profusely the donor. Said amount will be distributed to the following: Bantay Bata, Families of the victims of Wowowee stampede, OFW who cannot go home due to lack of funds, Family of the con-joined twins and for Wowowee programs benefiting mostly the kids. I was wondering who was the donor, a person with a big heart. Good thing that such person still exists. And to Willie, for giving the said money to the less fortunate and to those who deserve it, thank you and God bless you.

Yes. Don't you have any idea where that money came from? That was from politician...Believe me...well it is good that Willie gave it to different charities..I think if wellie runs for any position in the government I am sure it would be a "land slide" vote favored for him...

Sure. That was a huge amount of money. If that money came from a politician or from someone who did something wrong but afterwards thought of amending his/her sins by giving money to wowowee, then it's great. However, the means do not justify the ends.
The way of giving dole outs will not help us at all. Easy money just like that does not solve the symptoms of poverty. It is like a painkiller, after its effects, the pain is there again.
Since, wowowee receives some donations, Willie should think of something that has long term effect like livelihood programs that are well managed and viral in effect.
Nevertheless, two million do help the needy at hand.

Must be a very kind-heart mogul there. It's always a pleasure to read about rich moguls giving out generous charities to different organizations, and the fact that he or she is remaining anonymous, that adds on to the fact how humble that person is.
It is such a thoughtful gesture and especially with his or her status as a rich person, to find the time to donate those big amounts really mean something. Really says a lot about the person indeed.

Just right before TV Patrol aired the news about this willie & the money story, my wife told me about it. And so goes the news, and saw it personally, willie is announcing about the money, and so on.
What I can say about this? Well I am pretty much sure, the money came from a politician who wants willie endorse him for the coming elections, or he wants willie to run for an office.
Just last Saturday, I saw it also, Villar can't just resist and he gave 6 units of house and lot.
If willie has a lot of money, we all know he has lots of it, I don't think this anonymous donor will spend just like that.
Let's just thanks him, whoever he is, and willie gave the money to the more needy.

I dont think the money came from a politician, why would someone give away 2million pesos without getting any credit for it especially politicians and elections coming soon. Thats wowowees money willie thinks he can fool everybody by doing some of his old tricks.Everyone knows willie has lots of money so this time he would want credits for his sincerity and honesty if he earns 1 mil a day how hard is it to come up with 2 mil to give away. and also the money hes giving away to the contestants are not his just remember that. Its the sponsors thats why willie is so millionaire right now with a big big head.

So Willie don't know what the donation is for? Because I am also baffled. If it is for charity, why give it to Wowowee? If the donor does not really want to make a big fuss, why in a show that tends to generate mountains out of mote hills?
Is this real or this is just another gimmick?

I've watch that too. it's so pity that who ever gave the money to willie could have just give the money to the charities that willie mentioned. he/she could have done by him/herself. this proves that the person is a politician. very stupid move actually..

Hi there! I'm watching Wowowee when Willie revealed the 2M cash to the public. I didn't get the details much about it. While watching news, the issue about the money was featured. It was then when I get the full detail of the story.
And yes, it's a good thing that Willie donated the money to charities. Willie is one of the few people who has a big heart to the needy. It's so nice to know that there are still people like that.I know that many people will be benefited from the money which was donated by an unknown person.
I hope many people will be like that and will really have that burden to help the people in need.
Happy Mylotting!

Hi jules67!
It's really good to hear that there are still person who are willing to share their fortune to less fortunate people. I just do hope that this money will went to the real people who are badly in need.
I also commend Willy for using his show to encourage fortunate people to give or share their blessings to the less fortunate one.
Have a nice day!

Not to be a devil's advocate or anything, but I suspect it's also part of promoting the show perhaps to raise the ratings. Wherever the money came from, it's still a gimmick the way the announcement was made and how dramatic everyone's making it out to be.
I am all for charity and for helping the poor. But dole-outs should not be the way to do it. I support organizations that empower the less-fortunate instead.
Look at NGOs like World Vision. People who donate money there can become sponsors to poor children whose education they can specifically support. You'll know where your money is going and can be assured that it is really making a big difference.
The kids learn to treasure the chance of making their and their family's lives better. The communities where the children live are also given livelihood projects so that everybody would have something to sustain them in the coming years.
With dole-outs, once the money runs out, the previously "lucky" recipient just goes back to noontime shows in the hopes of getting lucky again. I'm sorry if this offends anyone but I do hate that trait in people.

Wow that's wonderful. Whoever did that is really somebody who deserves to be thanked. i'm sure the donor is abundantly blessed with material things that he shared it with other people. Hope there are many more people who would do the same.

I sleep during the day, so I was not able to watch wowowee when he actually made an announcement on the said show. I have found it out last night while I am watching the news before work. What he did was amazing! If it was given to the wrong person, he/she might just keep that money, run away and live a good life say for the next 5 years or so. It is very important that the money goes to people who really needs it, and many are so happy that it is exactly what happened.
We should thank God for the allowing such great things to occur. Praise be to Him. More blessings to Willie and to the people who received the help.
Thank you and God bless to the anonymous person as well; wherever he/she may be, because of the money, rain poured- bringing back life on lonely souls.

I donated the money, thanks for mentioning, I never thought it meant that much
Nah, I am just kidding, it wasn't me.
But I am glad that there are people who have that much and are willing to give, it is a blessing that will returned to them multiplied.

It is always great to see those who have more lending a hand. That sounds like a huge donation; I hope it goes where it is supposed to. I wish I had excess funds like that; it would be a fantastic feeling to be able to help to that extent. Good Karma for the donor!

There's a probability that a politician did that. I heard that the presidency election in the Philippines is getting close. Who knows, this can be the main reason for this anonymous contribution. It's very heartwarming to know that the money will go in the right direction.

hi jules! really? so that was what the news was about. i'm on my room in the computer and i heard about a news with willie revillame. so i stopped what i was doing and went to watch what my mom was watching. i didn't quite get it, i thought willie donated some money. well, i guess it was pretty easy for him to give the 2 million to charities because in the first place it wasn't a direct out-of-pocket from him. although it was given and he could have kept it but he has so much money already. it would have been more remarkable if it was really money from his pocket. well, it's still impressive though that he actually did that.
as for the person who gave it, i'm glad he kept himself anonymous. i wonder who he is. i'm sure it's no politician because if that was the case, he would announce it to the whole world. i just hope that he won't come out later and claim that it was really him who gave the money. if he wants to be anonymous then he should always remain anonymous. whoever he is, "cheers!" i wonder if he's here in mylot?

He/she could be anyone. Politician, businessman or probably a lotto winner. It could be me? Money was handed to him by a guard of Ayala, where Willie is currently building a house. Bottom line is, let us thank this person for doing something like this.
