Can you eat just fruilt all day, withaut other food?

If you must to eat just fruits all day, nothing else forbidden, you can?
If you are isolated on one island, and there you can find just fruits, do you think that in few days you will die because don t have any food?
Can fruits give us all what we need as minerals, proteins, vitamins?
Can somebody work and live if he eating just fruits?
What do you think?

FRUITS!love em'...If stuck in an island with just fruits in the hand, you wouldn't die, I wouldn't, it would even make you live longer.If fruits are cheaper, I would be eating just fruits. Though it doesn't have all the mineral and nutrients our body needs, it would still be enough for a person to survive.

Yea, I guess I can eat fruits all days. Of course there should be more than one kid of fruits to supply the body all the nutrients it needs. It can sustain for several days I guess but the body needs nutrients from other typed of food too, like protein from meat, etc. Personally, I love eating fruits especially coconut, mango and banana so if I'm trapped in an island, i do hope there are those fruits I like. hehe

I also can last a day by eating fruits only since it contain lots of vitamins and minerals that can help us do our daily tasks since it can help boost our boy' immune system.

i can't. i need real food, like rice and proteins. nuts and beans. salad. eating one fruit a day is like a chore, eating only fruits will be torture. then again, we should be grateful for everything we have, i was reading a story about a famous man in my religion, who came across a family who did not have anything to eat, the mother was boiling stones to make it look like she's cooking, and as her children cried for food, she kept telling them, its not cooked yet. He gave all his travel money to the family. that's sad, i hope nothing like that ever happens to anyone.

I like fruits a lot.
I can eat fruit all the time, but I am not able to eat fruit all day without food because I need some real fruit so I can have more protein and nutrition for my health and my body.

I am doing the nutriology at unil, to balance ur diet is very important.fruits can content minerals,proteins,vitamins etc but there are still many nutrions fruits can't supply for the body such as animal protein or carbohydrate.Only eat fruits maybe cause the "fruit disease",like if had too much plums,can damage the teeth.

I dont know how much nutritional value fruits can give us, specially with regards to protein intake, but yes, I can stay on fruits for days. In our Hindu way of lifestyle, we have specific days and festivals earmarked when one is allowed to have only fruits...you see, I beleive that rotating the food groups and even going on fast for one day in a week does wonders for our stomach and digestive system...but few of us are likely to follow this, hence religion plays its role in enforcing this on us. So I am used to taking only fruits for an entire day. Though we no longer follow this strictly, our hectic lifestyle leaves little room for celebrating day long festivals, but I think its good if we can incorporate it in our daily lifes.

People have survived doing that, but I could never ever do that. I like variety in food too much to just eat fruit or even fruit and vegetables all day long. I like foods from all four food groups, and a few sweets and some extras for treats, in between. A good balance is what works best for me.

Hi icesmile, fruit is one of the essential foods which I will take daily. Though I love eating fruits I still couldn’t just take fruits as my meals the whole day. As far as I know if we just taking fruits the whole day, could help the expulsion of toxin of our body. This is really good to the health of our body if we keep on doing this for a couple of days.
I had tried to eat grapes, mangoes, bananas and apples as my meals. But I could hardly stand the feeling of my stomach after taking all the said fruits for the two meals. I felt like I was still hungry and thirsted for foods liked rice, bread and other delicious desserts I gave up finally.

I did that Tuesday! It;s the first time in many months I've been able to eat (soft) solid food after jaw surgery, and all I wanted was fruit. I'd happily survive with fruit and nothing else, although that wouldn't be terribly healthy because so many important nutrients are missing.

..oh.. fruits for me are great.. i could really eat just fruits all day.. fruits have more vitamins and other substances that could help boost the body's resistance.. I really think someone could leave by eating fruits.. just like the vegetarians.. they live by eating veggies and rice alone.. So I believe fruit eaters could live without other foods.. They are nutritious actually and more healthy..

..you're right.. fruits would mean different kinds of fruits not only one.. of course everything taken more than what is required can cause damage to our health.. so we have to eat according to what our body needs..

I could probably do it for a couple of days and I guess it would not be so bad if there were a variety of fruits available. I am not sure that fruits would have everything we need. I know they are high in vitamins and fibre. But I do not think we would get a sufficient amount of protein or fat. I wouldn't mind it for a few days though.

Yep actually i was on a only fruit diet for about 2 days, when i was doing my diet plan, It was actually very easy to be only on fruits the whole day, as i love fruits.., but yep if anyone had asked me further, i can't. One or two are days are ok and fine , but not more than that..

Hello ice,
I did it dear,not for a day for a whole week.When i started my detox session (i am acidic and my doctor advise me to do some detoxifying)
i started with eating fruits the whole week,just plain fruits and water.
On the first 3 days,i feel sick eating only fruits,of course it's not our usual menu,so i feel sick of it.But,i never feel weak or anything,im fine,im strong i just crave for another food plssss....But the diet was so strict and i need to follow.
So,i guess we can survive eating fruits and fruits and no other foods.
Fruits had all the essentials nutrients and vitamins we all need and it's natural also/organic foods which are good for our health.
