Writing a memoir !

I was trying to find out how to go about writing a memoir. But after some research, I still don't know what or where, or how to get started. I really can't remember a lot of the details of the past. So the idea that came to my mind would be to go through all the pictures I have, and write a story or memoir of each picture, because as I look at each picture, the details and memory comes back to me! I can even put them in chronological order!
How does this idea sound to anyone?

That sounds like a great idea to me. I would have a problem trying to write also as I have so many parts of my earlier life blocked out of my mind for some reason or another. I do have pictures that bring back memories but then again there is a huge gap where there are no pictures. Even to this day when it comes to taking pictures I am the one taking them so not in any of them.
