Economic Depression

I heard on the news that we may be rising out of the depression. Do you think that in the midst of police and service workers being laid off, public transportation costs rising, the workforce of america being continuously cut down and the state governments being under so much debt. Can we just all of a sudden rise out of it.

Well, those things happen regardless what the economic situation is. And I seriously hope no one is saying we can "all of a sudden" be okay again, because it doesn't work that way. It's going to take time. All I've heard so far is discussion of indicators that might point towards recovery. That is far different from knowing or being in recovery. And there is no really good direct measurement for such indicators. Just guesses. And even if we knew for sure, I think we are still going to see a lot of setbacks. Up and downs and what not before we declare the recession over.
