Have you ever done a home renovation/remodeling project yourself?

I love designing for my home...even just the small details like the design of a cabinet, my current project is designing for our understairs cabinet, hope it turns out fine.

Painting is one of my favorite things to do. You can make such a difference in how a room looks with a little color and it's probably one of the most inexpensive ways to create maximum impact. I love to do DIY projects. The most difficult thing that I did was to lay tile in one of our bathroom floors. DH was amazed that I could actually do it. It was one of the hardes things that I've ever done. Is is possible for you to paint your apartment to suit your taste and paint it back to white if you ever move? I know that's a lot of work but INHO, it's worth it to put a personal touch on the place where you spend so much time. Good luck.

No, I don't believe I have. I've helped, since my mothers fiancee is a handyman. He knows how to play with the electricity hookups, water/pipes, he built a new story on a house once somewhere else. So if I were going to renovate anything in the future I'd probably ask him to help and oversee everything. I don't own my own home, but still live with family since its cost effective... its my grandfather and my brother and our grandfather needs someone in the house to watch out for him anyway even if he can sometimes get on our nerves with snooping in our mail and some other things. It's his house though and he has rights, but I don't think that right extends to needing to know everything we get in the mail. I've never asked him to change my room though, but then I have lived in this house before when he rented it out to my mother when I was a teenager. Purple walls

Yes, we have done a bunch of renovation and remodeling projects. We own our house, though, so we can pretty much do what we want as long as we have the money for materials. I have done all the work on some of the projects, my husband has done all the work on others, and then there are some we do together. I like the ones that we do together the best, but time and circumstances do not always allow that to happen. Eventually, we would like to redo the whole house, one room at a time, but that might take the rest of our lives - lol.
