Where does your inspiration come from?

Where does your inspiration come from when you're writing a children's book or just trying to write a story to tell to any young children you might have or know in order to keep them entertained? Do you ever find inspiration difficult to come by or is there always something to be inspired from/about? My own inspiration comes from watching the clouds float by and the flowers blooming, an ant on the ground 'outside' carrying something to its hill. All in all, I find nature to be the most inpiring, although old tales and/or legends help to and rework them to fit the need or wish of a child I know myself.
