Some say, it is Education.. (50% I disagree)
Some say, it is devotion towards God (I slightly agree). I had seen some peoples who are very very bad in helping others. anyway, they are great worshiper of Gods too.. maybe, for selfishness, they may pray.
According to me:
RESPECT FOR DIFFERENCES (This is very Important. I hope people get, what I exactly meaning here)
Generosity
Kindness
Inclination to stand for Right and against Wrong
Avoiding Ego's
Equality on the basis of Race, Color, Health & Wealth. etc.,
Treating others with Respect
With the above said qualities, if we add "Sacrifice", it also stands for great human being.
In very simple words, "A Good heart can makes a good human being"
Education, Religion & Secularism.. all these are secondary things.
Dear friends, whats your idea of a good human being is....

Hi raghul,
You have given a wonderful explanation about a good human being but I have disagreements on some issues. You have 50% disagreement with education and I have 100% disagreements. A highly educated person supposed to be a good human being but it varies from person to person. Some are become more polite and vice versa. I agree with the statement a good heart can makes a good human being. If you have a good heart everything will come to you automatically.

Haha.. you have 100% disagreements?
Ok dear.. accepted & agreed.. I might be wrong with that point above.
If i have a good heart, everything will come for me? hmm.. I already checked. nothing positive in a big way. anyway, i will remain the same.no plans now in turning heel.
Wishing to see those 10 stars which achieved 3 times already..
Happy posting.. Have a nice time!

great discussion and you have summarized what makes a good
]human being, may I add to have a good or great human being
you must have parents who help others, who respect others, who
are generous and kind, stand up for their beliefs, use
the golden rule and these parents must instill in their
children these same beliefs, and respect for others has to
'be right at the top of the list.if parents respect themselves
'and their children, their children will respect them, and
other people as well. also love, love must be taught.love for'
family, love for other people, love for your country, and love]for yourself so you know how to love others.I have had to learn to
love myself so I could love my husband and son freely, unconditionally.

Hi raghul, I believe a good human being is a person who always has a heart of gold. That is, they do good deeds is straight from the heart, instead of other reasons. From many incidents happen around in our daily life, we know that some are willing to help other just because they are afraid that there might be a form of retribution later. Some do charity events just to fish for compliments or other personal advantages.
There is a popular saying of Chinese that “man’s nature at birth is good”. This means that everyone is born with good and kind heart. The growing up surrounding people and environment would affect his behavior, character and . . . unless he could hold his born nature and kindness firmly.
I believe good education, religion and etc or would help to make a person to be good human being. But these also would cause them that they are high up and think that it would be scorn to help the old and ignoble people.
Yeah, I agree that all the seven qualities you mentioned above are the fundamental conditions to be a good human being. Yeah, we know there are brave and good hearted soldiers are more than willing to sacrifice their lives for their motherland. Parents are more than willing to sacrifice for protecting their beloved kids when encountering dangerous event like earthquake, tsunami and .....
Anyway having a good heart is a weakness as well nowadays. We have to be aware that some bad eggs who have malicious intention always lurking around to take the advantages from the blind side of any good human beings
Take care and happy posting

for me a good human being must have respect with others. They have to know that everyone is unique. They must look at criticism as fair and healthy criticism. They to be concern with everyone around them. They have to be able to help others in need and if ever they cannot help, they have to pray for them. They must have a good heart and able to sacrifice their own happiness sometimes.

Hi greycychunny,
i agree with you. Respect is the most important thing first of all.. One must treat everyone with Respect. Secondly Helping tendency is also a must for one to address himself as a good human. and as you stated about prayers, even one cannot help, those are really good morals of a good human being. Thanks for your participation.

Hi raghul77ster,
good question you asked.. According to me helping others and treating everyone with respect is the most important quality to be a good human. These two are very most important. Other things are apart from this.

What's make a good human being is someone who mind his own business and works hard to achieve his own goal.
He does not judge other people for doing things differently.
He does not steal from people or exploit people for his private gain.
He lives and let live.
He can only respect people who treat him with respect in return.
This is very much a two way street.
The only reason racism exist is because of a clash of culture brought on by immigration. And that will never change... or at least not for a long time.
Education is everything.
And God has nothing to do with any of it.

I agree that there are all kind of education... and the one you get from your parents is just as important as the one you get from school.
And it is the one you get from your parents which will make you a good human being... as long as you have the right parents to start with.
As for the other stuff... the gap between the poor and the rich is enormous in your country... and it will take a long time to reduce it. People who are on the move to get out of poverty cannot afford to be hold back by helping the poor. It is only when you have 50% of people making a good living that you can start asking them to help the other 50%. If you do so too early... you will drive the rich back into poverty.

But Aussie,
you must be clear with one point I meant. I am not asking the rich peoples to give the whole money to the poor. Small kind of helps won't make the rich to poverty case. The Truth is, many of the rich peoples are refusing to help others even if they are in a good position to help. That thing must be avoided from most of the Bad Hearted peoples.
No doubt that Educated peoples are more than 80% in this category.

Hi Aussies,
First of all, Welcome to this discussion. from your words,
He does not steal from people or exploit people for his private gain. He lives and let live - This line made me think for a while.well said.
"He can only respect people who treat him with respect in return"
Eventhough this principle does not need for good heart, in the current world, this habit is must for every human.
Lastly you mentioned Education is everything. Thats the place where i have to show my disagree. I had seen many peoples who never knew to respect others or helping others (even a little help by giving hand to blind men to cross the road. Some dont do these types of help because they had studied much. they think that they are not the right persons to do these 'things')And i had seen a lot of peoples who dont polish their shoes, fails punctuality, speak lies, disrespects old peoples, etc.,
according to me, Education is not the thing, which makes a good human being.
Sametime, I agree if you say if parents teach good mannerism to their child's in the very beginning. even that is education.. I support for parents education rather than the education given in schools or colleges.
Have a nice time!

A good human being to me is one that is honorable, respectful, helps others [perhaps the sacrifice] and is good with children. This to me is a good human being. Rughul would be termed a good human being because you wondered about this in the very first place.

Hello dear celticeagle,
Thank you very much for confirming in good guys list.
But I am still imperfect good human with one or 2 habits like showing my angry towards parent, disrespecting high aged people if i found they are talking or doing wrong, etc., like these, i still have deeper, little habits to be changed.
Hope, I will be complete perfect Good Human, Shortly..
Have a nice time.. Happy Posting!

Hi raghul, I agree with this - "A Good heart can makes a good human being". It is a sum total of many qualities that make a good human being. Everybody has their own faults and short comings . It is nice to see a humble and simple person who is able to understand others and respect others with all their short comings. Most people are busy tearing others to pieces , busy pointing out others mistakes. All the best and have a nice day

Hello my friend raghul77ster Ji,
I remember Swami Vivekananda said , "KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY CAN BUY YOU THE WHOLE WORLD" But to be good and like by all , must have selfless service to all without being biased by race /coloretc.etc. The best defense is good offense. Further, what appeals me good, may not hold good for others.
May God bless You and have a great time.

Hello friend,
I knew that incident very well.. not only that.. I read a lot about Swami Vivekananda.
Sametime you must knew that I hadnt compared here anyone with other. Mother Teresa is also a great human who had lived in this world. Once when she went to one man home and asked donation for orphans, that person had splitted in Mother teresa's face and said "take this and go away".
What we people will do if this happened to us? But Mother Teresa had politely said that I will take this for me. but what you going to give for orphans? at the next second that rich man realized his mistake and felt very sorry for his behavior and helped giving some wealth.(I doubt whether the bad hearted peoples in current world will change thier hearts immediately like this. thats why i mentioned "it wont suits current world" )
i also remember when Vivekananda's guru was about to die getting some disease, all his sishya's afraid to go inside his room. but when swami Vivekananda returned he ran inside his guru room and lifted his guru who was on floor felled from bed. at that time, his guru vomitted and Swami Vivekananda had catch the vomit by his hands. What great respect and love does Swami Vivekananda has for his guru..
Its truly an inspiration for anyone living in current world. I have a book values said by him. Going to read now.
Happy postings..

Hi maygodblessu,
It was been said by Swami Vivekananda?then it must be very right!
I have kindness with me always. Whenever i meet new persons, especially the elder ones, I always show my kindness. but at the sametime, if they dint showed me proper behaviour or treating with less respect, I wait maximum by giving them 1 or 2 chances. Then i will slap them by "my words" by exactly pointing out the reason for my anger(if one dont know how to behave or deal with others showing equal respect)
What to do my friend? nowadays respect is the very most thing in the society. Why we must be quiet if we are disrespected. we must be furious instantly. so that atleast 1 or change their behaviours.
I am wondering how much patience Swami Vivekananda had and how much insults he faced. samelike Mother Teresa. But humans had changed very much nowadays. it wont suits current generation, i believe. Just my opinion.
Have a nice time!

Hello my friend raghul77ster Ji,
It is utter partialiaty, if one cpmpares with Swami. I wish you read some of the incidence in his life and learn how he took one KG green chillies withour speaking a word to Lady. He always taught to remain positive. He taught to have patience. So if one feels hurt by other, one should pose oneself in other's shoes to understand unfold truth.
May god bless You and have a great time.

Hello friend,
There are a lot of desired qualities that go into making a good human being and we would never come to conclusion on the percentages bit either. What I believe is that if a person is honest, respectful and has feelings for fellow human beings, he is good in my book.
In this age, there are a lot of cheats who take advantage of such helpful people hence I do not blame people if they act selfish and do not help the needy.

Yes Jshekhar,
Sadly the world is surrounded by most peoples who are cheaters and liars. I always question myself inside my mind how true this guy will be, when one praises or appreciates me for some reasons. main thing i learned in my life is, we must not fall for others praising on us. the words may be cheat. Thats the reason I see many fake people herein mylot itself, where one talk about humanity, human relations, being great, etc., but if u send them a friends request or P.M, you can understand the responsibilities they have for others. why to talk about useless fellows?
Thanks for the participation jshekhar.. I knew you are a nice guy.

Hi Coly,
First of all, nice to see you here.. Do you think education is really an very important factor? I don't think so.. Especially, when school and college students do violence. And violence has been much worse in the past.
"Schools and colleges can teach us the subjects but it is upto us how much we wanna learn from people."
Education should teach us the facts of life and broaden our vision, so that we ourselves can decide what's good, what's bad. It's our parent's job to evoke some ethics in us. And 'better' is relative term, as we all know.
Secondly you stated about "Mannerisms". I totally agree with that. that area decided whether one is good or not.
Thanks for your participation in this discussion, coly..

Yes i agree with the education, but even though we
have good education if we dont apply it in good
manner, respect and being kind at heart. Our education
is very useless indeed. We also need to have selfrespect
or else nobody will respect us because we're too careless
in a way.We also have different Religion but we need
to respect their beliefs.thnx my friend..

Hi dear sanajana aslam,
After reading your response, I self test myself. Too bad. I still need some changes to become perfect good human. I love my pets, i had forgave even traitors(but i didn't forget), already i got certified that I am very humble & I definitely believe that I can be a good husband to my future wife.
One thing which hits about my quality is, good child to the parents.
if anyone ask my mother about me, definitely she will talk proud of me & she will praise me. no doubt with it. But the truth is, I am not showing deep love towards her. even showing hard faces some times. I already took step in changing this habit.
I will change it completely in coming days.

I think it is the attitude to live and let live. To me a good human being will help everybody around him/her (family, friends or others).
I don't really agree that education can make a good person. Well then the lawyers, police and many other professionals should be the most eligible people for the title "Good Human Being" :( - please no offense.
But i do agree with you about the secondary factors. One should have a clean and pure mind to be a good human being :)
