Stapler or Paper clips

When I used to work in an office, or maybe even now I work from home, I have these 2 items on my desk. I will use lots of paper clips for those stuff that I am compiling, and a stapler once it's confirm. I hate having the used staples (bullets) on my table. I have a colleague who only uses staplers as she finds that having paper clips is not good as the paper will still have the tendency to move around, and she ended up having lots of hole on her paper, since she keep removing the staples. What about you? Do you use just one of these or both?
Happy Sharing, Thanks for responding.. and Happy MyLotting..

Hi cwong77,
I love to use both of its. It is depend on what kind of job that I want it to be done to determine the way I pull this paper together.
I used paper clips if I need to pull or separate this papers in future. Or if I just want to make my table tidy. But sometimes paper clips is not very reliable to hold this papers together.
I used stapler if I have a papers that made from I topic or have a same/related topics. It is easier for me to read it that way. If you read something that attached by paper clips, it is easily separated. Staplered papers also easy to carried or distributed.
Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

Yes, true that stapler is much better for papers to carried or distribute. I am not working in an office, but i am in the office, i have my own stapler, but i don't have paper clips. It is more convenient to hold papers by staples than clips. I have that black stapler and because i love to write something that is nonsense and with sense randomly, i used old notebook pages and staple it together. Anything i have printed out staple it before putting in plastic envelop, and not using fastener. Though it can not hold thick papers i still love to used it. I used 35mm.

there are a lot of different kinds of paper clips and a lot of design. then i find that there are different colors of staples now on stores. but just like you said i dont like my papers ending up with a lot of holes for it looks dirty. i used paper clips for temporary then when it is all okay i put staples on it. i sometimes dont use anything anymore just put it inside an envelope of the papers needs to be in an envelope.

Hey cwong77! Good question. hmmmm..As for me, I would go to paper clips. First, it comes with different colors, recyclable, classy, it doesn't hurt your hand (sometimes accidents happen), and it won't ruin your paper. Stapler is out because it's the total opposite of paper clips.:)

Dear cwong77,
Hi, out of curiosity, does the idea of this topic came while
you are at your seat in the office looking at your stapler and
paper clips...? lol
Stapler and paper clips are unigue in itself, they serve different
funtions although from the outlook, they are to gather loose papers
intact... same function but there are a big DIFFERENT too!
STAPLER
Convenient...hold paper securely in place, if you turn the pages,
the papers are still intact. It is convenient for certain thickness
of papers...compared to wired, spiral or plastic comb binding!
Binding cost more and takes time...but more presentable!
Stapler came in many sizes, some are the mini ones, good for school
children to put inside ther pencil case...but BEWARE..it is dangerous
if not handle with care.
Actually staples can be removed easily using a special gadget called
staples remover, safer and neat.
PAPER CLIPS
I carry along with me in my hadbag in case I need to clip
cheque or receipts together. It is purely for 'temporary'
measure. It is advisable one you are finalised with the
paperworks, removed the clips and staples it together before
file it in into respective folder or files.
Paper clips are not suitable for reading as you turn the pages
it tends to get loose..
As submerryn said, we ..those who loves art & craft, paper
clips is 'More than Meets the Eyes" there is thousand and one
things that we can use for paper clips...stapler too!
Therefore , my conclusion is not between Stapler & Paper Clips,
BUT what you need to do with the papers, permanent attached together
or just for temporary reference while waiting to be finalise!
All the best and do keep in touch!

I usually use a stapler because that way i know that i will not lose any of the papers. if i take the staples out and want to restaple it i will try to staple as close to the whole from the last staple as possible.
