I think you guys here read about this a lot but this is just bother me and I just want to get some ideas about this. I went to the bank with my husband and he went inside to do some deposit and I waited for him with my two children. Then my Daughter started to dump up and down and I asked her, what were you doing? she said, there are kids in the car next to us and he is playing with me. I turned around and saw two children about the same age as mind, in the car but no adult and the car was still running.
Then I saw another man walked pass by and saw the kids, he stood there until their mom came. I heard the man said, you left your kids in the car!!! and you are not support to do that. The mom said, I just went inside to make a quick withdrawal. The man said, No matter what, dont leave your kids in the car. She just took off.
I dont know what is going in each one of us here but do you think it is right thing to do even the car is still running? To me, it is just put more danger to the kids... it might be someone come in and take off with the car, or other thing else that could happen.
What do you think? share your thought

First of all, there is no way on this Gods green earth that those kids should have been left in the car. No matter what the woman was thinking. You should honestly found out who that woman is and call DCS on her. If she has done this here where else has she done it. I take my kid in every where with me. My child doesn't stay at home by herself and she doesn't stay in the car. The car temperatures can reach close to 200 degrees in the hottest part of the days. Its very difficult for me to get in the car and sat and wait to turn the car on with the temperatures being that hot. Those kids should not have been left.

I was mention that the car was still running and I believed she might have AC on. It is hard to leave kids in the car... just like today, I have to go to CVS and my baby is sleeping... but I still take her in the store with even she is sleeping. Just pick her up slowly and lay her head on my shoulder and im good to go.

Here, it is illegal to leave small children in the car even for a short time. Children are precious and sad that parents need to be told that is not worth the risk. Anything at all can happen. Not too long ago, the cops took a baby that was left alone in the car. When the mom returned and discovered her baby missing, she went into a complete panic and went to the police to report it. The police were waiting for her. She was angry because she had only run into the store quickly and was gone only a very short time. Still, If the cops had time to grab the child then anyone could have. Hopefully she learned from the experience.

Some people have no brain. She obviously doesn't watch TV that much. So much has been televised about leaving small children in the car. Even if only for a sec. Wouldn't take anyone long to jump in and run off. Just watched a programme the other night. Similar story. The poor man was just paying the gas attendant and some fool up and jacked his car (3 month old baby inside).
Good on the man for giving her a what-for. Hope she went away and thought about it.

See, just a second is can change everything around... how dump. I will pay with my debit or credit card instead of walking in to the store, plus I am lazy too

I guess it would depend on how old the kids were, and what the temperature outside was. I have two kids, 8 and 7, and I wouldn't leave them in the car alone just because I would be scared that someone would take them. I have very responsible children, and have no doubt that they wouldn't ever mess with the gears or windows in my car, and are old enough mature wise to be left alone. But most kids at their age are not. But, like stated, I wouldn't just because I would be afraid someone would take them. By the time my oldest is 11 or 12, I will probably be OK with leaving them in th car to run into the bank, but not yet.

What is it with people leaving their kids in the car??? That in itself is dangerous... and then to leave the car running. I understand the need to run errands and whatnot but really would it have been to difficult for her to take her kids withh her? It sounds like the kids were old enough to be able to walk next to the mother but if she was worried that they were gonna run around then they do have harnesses for kids. As inhumane as that may sound they do a world of good for those parents with active kids. Also if she were just doing a withdrawal why couldn't she use the ATM machine?? People have to get their heads on straight and remember what their responsibilities are!!

I think that unless a responsible adult is there to supervise, no kids, under any circumstances, should be left in the car by themselves, especially with it running. Someone could easily kidnap them or hurt them.

I don't think it is right to leave the children in the car, or in any other place, without adults overseeing these kids. Even if it takes a second or two only, it is not proper to leave the children unattended because many things can happen in just a second.

Hi, smileonstar. I think that it is very dangerous for a mother to leave her kids in the car while it is running. That is a big no no! The kids could have moved a gear on the car and someone crazy could have kidnapped them. She was very lucky to know that this man was so kind enough to watch out for her children. Not everyone is that nice, ya know.. This mother made a dumb move which should not be done again..

Yes, i agree... I am also a mother but I can't do that even I am lazy... I just take them home, stay with my mom so I can go alone not just leave them in the car that is still running.
I hope she will learn her lesson, that's is lucky that he didn't call the police on her.

you would be suprised at how many times this happens the one time when i worked at the mall this lady left her 2 little kids in the car for at least 20 min and thats just when i was cleaning over by her car when i noticed that the kids where in there i stayed over there so i can kinda keep a eye on things and after that i called the cop over that was at the end of the lot and when i was talking to the cop she came out and the cop talkied to her to find out why she left her kids in the car and she told him that she was only gone for about 5 min which was a lie she came out with almost a full cart and the officer gave her a notice for court or something she was mad but i had to do what i thought was right i could not stand there all day and watch her children because she wanted to leave them in the car by themself. i have 5 children and i would never leave any one of them in the car no any amount of time

oh my god!!! 20minutes? she should desire the ticket and go to court for that. well, you are doing the right thing... 1 minutes is long minute to me already. Even I fill up the gas, I dont do the cash... I just do the Credit or Debit... cuz i dont want to leave them alone.

That was cruel and irresponsible on the mother's side. What if the kids accidentally moved the car?Kids are good at observing and if they tried to imitate their mother,driving....oh!it could have ended fatal. The worst part is the mother hadn't understood the complaint from that gentleman who pointed out her mistake.I think there should be some awareness programs for such irresponsible persons to enlighten.

That was quite irresponsible of the mom to do such a thing. It takes only a minute for a child to be taken away from a parent. You leave a child in a car that is running. Anyone could come along and get in the car and drive away with the kids. How stupid can someone be. I know she didn't want to bother wasting time getting the kids out of the car. Not doing the right thing could have cost her childrens' lives. You know when my daughter has to go somewhere and she takes the baby she will never leave her daughter in the car for a second all alone. It is so dangerous and she is so lucky that the man was a good man. It could have turned out so different.

I think it is stupid and irresponsible for the mother to do that especially with the car running, god forbid but anything could happen in those few minutes that she is away.
The only time i ever leave my daughter in the car is when she is asleep and i am at the petrol station, and then i pull the car right up to the doors and lock it.

I dont know what is she thinking... I just dont understand.
If she doesn't like kids to be around then just take them home have adult take care of them. Or, she can do a drive through
