This week there was a hit and run accident and they finally caught the killer since the person hit was on a bike and unfortunately he died. I am not going to enter the merit of the accident as clearly the person was drunk, without insurance and driving recklessly so he deserves to be punished.
My point here is that the article published today by our local newspaper shows a photo of the motorist who killed this person. In the caption below the photo they say
In this picture featured on his HI5 profile, A*** **** is seen sitting on the roof of his car which he was allegedly driving when C**** Mi**** was fatally run over.
when I saw this I was a bit shocked. Are we really safe on these social networking sites? everyone can see our pictures and use them as he likes. This is the first case ever in Malta where I saw a photo of a perpetrator being published.
Again my point is not the accident as he deserves to be punished severely for what he did but what about our privacy? How do you feel about this?
