Dogs shot in the face?

This morning there was an item on the local news about two different incidents where dogs had been shot in the face. What kind of person shoots a dog in the face? The dogs, which were found STILL ALIVE with shattered jaws are being cared for and the guilty culprit is being hunted.
While I can agree there may be circumstances in which it is considered advisable or appropriate to put a dog down, WHO SHOOTS A DOG IN THE FACE?????
This is of course part of a larger problem -- dog fighting. That is a whole other discussion all by itself...

I don't know. I just hope they get what's coming to them sooner than later. Sometimes Karma is slow.

The two incidents happened on opposite sides of town. The news just said the police think it was fight related.

I think it's a really cruel and sick person that would do that. I really think that when they catch this person they should be locked up where they can't harm anyone else. I feel so bad for these poor animals.

I am not one of those people who puts animals ahead of humans but this sort of thing is just inexcusable. There isn't enough Karma to give that person(s) what he truly deserves for what he did to those poor dogs.

I think it's horrible. I love dogs and I do not approve of this. I know God will straighten this out. Pray for the world. Pray that God brings those that do this to justice and ask God to bring them into forgiveness and service to God.

I applaud your attitude. More people should have the perspective to hope for forgiveness and rehabilitation for transgressors. The problem though goes deeper than how the guilty parties mistreated those poor dogs.

Those persons are really sick they are the ones that need special help to do something like that to any animal's it make you wonder what would they be like around hummans if they are that mean!!!!!some dogs have to be put down "but with needle" so they don't feel any pain.

I agree sleeping pills would be better than have the poor dog suffer with bullets.

Really, I mean if the poor dog needed to be put down, sleeping pills are cheaper than stupid bullets. And then dispose of the dog properly instead of making the poor thing suffer.

People who hurt animals are scum, they wouldnt hurt a human because they woulid fight back so instead they hurt poor defencless animals. Imagine if that was your own pet and someone did that? I would probably feel like going to shoot the person who did it and say "see how you like it". I hope they get caught and punished for what they did :(

As far as I know, there's a law regarding animal abuse. Hope these punks will learn a lesson asap.

Geez, this news sucks. Being a dog lover myself, this is something that definitely bothers me. You're right, "What kind of person shoots a dog in the face?" Not just in the face but any person will shoot a dog intentionally for no reason is insanity!

WTF??? what is wrong with people??? that is just the meanest thing i have heard in a while. why would some want to hurt an animal that way?? of course there are times when dogs need to put down, but to shot them in the face is just mean and cruel.... sickos!!!

I don't know, but we had a moran up here doing the same thing. My brother found both his black labs shot in for forehead at point blank range. They were not chasing deer.

It is sad to hear when anyone gets shot. Dogs who are innocent are not forgotten in this list of people. You say it's all connected to dog fighting, are you saying these dogs had fought other animals, and that the owner of one of the animals had shot the opponent? Or are you talking of not so innocent (meaning not on the dogs on accord) fighting, where owners solicit their pet into a dog fighting arena?

The a--hole that did this will not stop at shooting dogs. If this was a dog fighting thing and the dog that lost is the dog that is shot ie. ( Michael Vick ) then other things will be just around the corner. This person or persons have no respect for life animal or human. I hope this ----- is found and prosicuted to the full extent of the law. I'm only dreaming, you know a lawyer will get him, them off.
