I am 5 ft and 7 ins tall. That is 1 m 70 cm. My mother is only 5ft 4 ins and my father was around 6 ft tall. My sister is 5ft 6 ins.
I know three brothers. The oldest two are 5ft 9 ins and the younger one is 6ft 4ins.
I went to study in the Netherlands and I met some really tall people there. Many of the Dutch ladies were taller than me. I went to Malaysia and slept on a train. The sleeping bunk was about 5ft 6 ins long. I didn't fit in it very well. I noticed in Malaysia most of the people were shorter than me.
Do you know your height?
If you have brothers and sisters are they tall or short?
Why do think the height of people varies in different countries?

Well, i am 5ft and 4inches tall... and for a filipina... that is a good height... there are a lot of girls who are shorter than me... and it helps that i have a thin frame... make me seem like i am a lot taller than that...
I worked with other nationalities... and they can be really tall... like the Jamaicans and Americans...

I'm 5ft 4 inches and my husband is close to 6ft. My mom is around the same height as me and my sister is about 5ft 2 inches I think. My grandma is also around the same height as me and my mom. I guess we're about average for the United States, maybe a little shorter.

Well, I am 5ft 6in tall. My mom is 4ft 10in and my dad is 6ft. my hubby is 6ft, too. Its of course due to our genetic factor that we are all different in our heights all over the world, but what made these segregation in genes in the first place, I have no idea at all. Maybe anthropologists have an idea as to how people dispersed all over the world and how different factors shaped our genes.

Hi max, I'm average for my era, around 175cm, however Australians are getting taller and taller by each generation. When I was in Thailand I was considered tall, and when I started there was hardly a student as tall as me. Now however, they are also growing taller, and some sixteen year olds are taller than me. Incidently my father was six feet, but mum not quite five feet. I have one brother just slightly taller then me.

Hi maximax. I'm about an inch taller than you. My mom is about 4'9" and my dad is 6'1". My sister is about 5'3". So we're both taller than our mother, though I got more of my dad's height. LOL I'm not really sure why height varies in different countries. Maybe it's genetics, maybe it's the effects of the particular country (like when it comes to the sun), or maybe it's a combination of things. I never bothered to learn about it, so I can't say for certain.
Happy mylotting!

I was told the 170 centimeters in my country are one centimeter tall calculated in different countries, and genetic differences, it is not the same. This is the root of this country who has a lot of eating.

Oh yeah. Here in the Philippines. You are already considered tall here. My father stands 5'6'' tall, my mother is 5'5'', the eldest is 5'4" the second eldest is 5'1 and me 5"1 and a half i guess followed by my brother who stands 5'7" while the youngest stands 5'3". Our height really depended on how much sleep we're getting. I can not really prove this fact but i guess it's partly true cause my youngest sister loves to sleep, she can sleep evrywhere compare to me and my second sister. I think Asians have small sizes than the other races because of the genes that we're carrying. Same with the color of our hair, eyes, skin tone, etc.

I am 1.68 m, taller than my sisters, and my parents are average height. I am a bit taller, mainly due to basket ball playing during middle school. Jumping is one of the stimulus for getting taller, and some ball games are good choices. Of course, sufficient nutrition should be available to support the growth.

hi
yes the height varies from country to country, most of the people in Asia are shorter than the Europeans, the people at Netherlands are tall, i have heard that, i am just around 5'9" ... most Indians are short, i would say the average height of the males is around 5'8" and that of the females is around 5'5", the height varies with the topography and living conditions i guess... my brother is around 5'11" ... he is a late bloomer, the ones who remain short and suddenly grow in height are called later bloomers, i have had a steady growth in height and my brother was always short of me, he is just an year younger and suddenly he started sky rocketing ... lol and finally is taller than me, i don't know how such happens but some people really grow fast lately.I guess the people living far away from the equator and nearer the poles are mostly taller, it also depends on the kind of food we eat, there are many more factors as well.

I am 6 feet 1 inch in height. My dad is tall. Hence I think I am also tall. I dont have any sibling. I think the height varies due to the food and climatic ocndtions of the country they live in. In my country, nowadays most of them are tall. I dont know why. My cousin is tall like me but he is 10 years younger yo me. I think mainly he food and heredity results in the height of a person. Cheers. Happy Mylotting.

I am 5 foot even. I am short, however so is my whole family. I believe the tallest person in my immediate family is my brother who is 5'7''. Height has most to do with the genes in your family and sometimes hormone imbalances. When I was young I wasn't growing as usual and my mom took me to the doctor to find out what was happening. Come to find out my pituitary gland (The master gland) Did not produce enough Growth Hormone (GH) and I was not growing like I was suppose to. So I had to take Human Growth Hormone (HGH) in order to even be the height that I am now, which is 5ft. However when it comes down to it, height is mostly determined by family genes!
