Oh my dear, that hurts. Next, you take extra care... I can't remember some accident I had before. But my wife just recently had hers. One time, kids want to eat apples. And because there was only one piece left in the fridge, she had to divide it into four so more kids can share from it. And while she was chopping the apple, she didn't notice her small finger was under the knife. So she was cut. Fortunately, it was just a small one. And it only took her two days to heal...

Many times I'm accident prone until now. When I was a kid I often had accidents that's why I had many scars and 3 stitches. My mother told me that I need to be careful in what I'm doing because sometimes I'm careless. I'm very careful in handling knife and some pointed objects.

Ouch... i bet that really hurts... its been a while since I had kitchen accidents. Most probably because I am seldom in the kitchen It's my MIL who does most of the house chores since I had to work. She is the one who usually has these small accidents and she has to many burn marks in her arms from cooking.

Ouch..that looks like it did hurt. I've never had any kitchen mini accidents, but my mom always all the time. She does the cooking at home mainly and while cooking fishes and whatnot, she will get some mini oil splashes or what's the word for it, ha..
They say that if one gets scalded, never to use tap water to run through. Instead, to let it cool down and taking a towel to wrap around it. I don't know what's the remedy, however I feel that it's useful to have first-aid kit in the kitchen or near to the living room area.

Hello zed,
Absolutelt,a first aid kit near the kitchen,or maybe, should put a first aid kit around the kitchen so it can be easily find ,since kitchen is one of the accident prone area in the house.Nice suggestion dear .
Thnaks for your responce.

I also had little kitchen accidents like cutting myself while peeling green mangoes. Or being splashed by hot cooking oil while frying. Luckily I haven't experienced serious accidents like burning. I remember my sister also have accidents when she was young. Our helper accidentally spilled the boiling water in front of her, she still have the burned marks in her skin.

Yes, luckily its not that visible though. Hmmm, I think we should really be more cautious and careful when working in the kitchen coz you'll never know what accident you might get from there.

OUCH, that's gotta hurt. In my household, I've been known to burn the kitchen. I guess in better words, I have set fire to every house I have EVER lived in...at least once. I SWEAR! It's weird, because I make a habit of telling myself, "don't leave the stove on and unattended for too long" AND THEN I WALK AWAY. I don't know what it is about walking away from a fire, but LUCKILY they were very quickly put out. I'd like to thank my Mom for making sure there was a fire extinguisher in the house and making sure I knew where it was. WHAT A SAINT!
Great posting, happy mylotting and see you around.

hi my little accident was a personal sized pizza left in the oven, I just plain forgot it, until smoke coming from my oven assaulted my nose and I dashed in to get the black frisbee out of the oven, I used a damp piece of paper towel. wow. I burned my fingers too as I y elled and jumped up and down and said a number of unladylike words for a senior citizen of my age. I hope you stuck your hand under cold running water. hope its all better now

O! Oh! That should be hurting, isn't it. I have had all types of accidents in the kitchen you have mentioned. But those were not severe (Thank God!).
Did you know that rubbing salt immediately at the affected area can reduce the swelling? It is a little painful but you can save yourself from a whole lot of pain and medication.
When you cut your finger, apply turmeric o the affected area and really heals quickly :)
PS to your fingers - Get Well Soon

oh thats bad. ya i have some clumsy accidents at home too, especially in the kitchen, just like you --- slicing a finger, i hate frying because of sprinkling oil, sometimes i forgot that the keetle is hot, and i hold it with bare hands. too hot. hehehe.

Hello shhheila,
I think it's just normal little kitchen accidents,as we are cooking we almost forget that the kettle is hot,or the nearby casserole is hot.Ah,i wonder why we forget to put those things away when we are busy at the kitchen and then, hurt ourselves with our carelessness.
Thanks for your responce dear, and happy mylotting

I've been burned SLIGHTLY, nothing like that. Just from accidentally touching the pot/kettle or oven rack. Still hurts, so I can only imagine what that must have felt like. The first time I tried cutting an apple I jerked the knife(made by Cutco mind you, steak knife) through the apple and cut myself just below my index finger on the palm. I probably bled for a few minutes straight before I got enough time to cover it with a bandaid. It was a pretty bad cut and I still have the scar.

Sure I did. I was splashed with hot cooking oil, in my hand, and face a little bit. that was hot, and hurt. I was panicked and washed my face right away, I shouldn't have done that, that was not the correct treatment. It left scars on my face for about 1 month and hand for about 3 months :(
Get well soon, jaiho2009.
