I just hate going to the dentist (even though I actually like my dentist). I do not like laying almost flat on my back while the dentist pokes around in my mouth. I do not like the drills or the Novocaine used to numb the mouth. With all that said, I have not been to a dentist in a few years. I need to whiten my teeth but I do not want to use those "bleaching" products. Other than old fashioned baking soda (which I will try) is there any other trick that works to whiten your teeth?

I was going to suggest peroxide, but I see Jayrene beat me to it.
I think I read somewhere that fresh lemon juice also works.

Lemon juice, who would have thought? I wonder if it is the acid in the lemon juice that does the trick. Funny, now I recall when I used to use a metal detector to find coins I used to have to clean the coins. Some had been in the ground for a while and were all dirty. I experimented with different substances to clean the coins and one thing was lemon juice. I cannot recall, at this point, which substance worked the best, some things I used actually made holes in the pennies. You have to be careful what you use and how long you tumble the coins. It was fun experimenting, though.
