Learning to playing the piano

A long time ago (more than 20 years) I wanted to take piano lessons. I took them for one semester. At the time, you needed to practice every day. Well, in order to do that, you had to have a piano, right? So dumb me went out and bought a relatively expensive piano. I just loved the way it looked. It is a beautiful piece of furniture. Well, that is what it has turned out to be -- a piece of furniture. I never did continue with my lessons, sadly. I found that it was too difficult for me to coordinate my eyes and brain into reading both staffs at the same time. Is there a trick to it or do you just have to have a special talent for learning how to read the staffs, notes and coordinate your hands together all at the same time. I mastered typing a long time ago and I am very good at that but eye, hand and brain coordination for playing the piano has not come so easily. Does anyone have any tips or hints on how to learn this or am I hopeless with an unused out-of-tune piano? I know I should have gotten an "old fashioned" player piano. I think I would have had more fun with that!

I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano too. I have been watching people playing it and it sounds so graceful and nice.Quite a number of my friends are playing musical instruments and I am the odd one out for sure.I find out that drums, guitar and bass are a little not my cup of tea. And hence thinking of playing the piano but haven't got the time and money to go learn.

I take a piano lessons and I think it's fun. First, tune your piano. It's very important because the sound is not good and harm you ear using the out-of-tune piano,,hehe Second, you must be patient and exercise everyday.. Don't give up if you can't press the right keys yet. Try to play it really really slow first ,then increase your speed slowly.. Try to play it (the same song) 20 times a day,,it helps! Really, there are no secret except do it happily and patiently.. There are some people who are given talent by God and can easily play piano, but I think they will loose to a non-talented one if they never exercise and the non-talented one do exercise everyday But it's already 20 years ago.. I think you must star from the very basic again if you wanna learn it.. Oh, why don't you take piano course? I'm sure it can help..
