How I save electricity/gas when preparing coffee. Do you....

...prepare coffee in a different way and still save?Hi, I drink a lot of coffee so it came to mind that I try to save on electricity and later gas since I bought a new hob using gas now. I bought a good vaacum flask so after I boil a kettle of water I pour it there and it stays hot for almost a day. That way I take the hot water from there for my coffee and save also the time of boiling another kettle. Even though you don't fill the kettle each time but it still uses energy to heat again so I think I am saving.
When the water in my flask was not very hot anymore I once tried to mix it with my coffee and sugar as usual and then placed the mug in the microwave. It's ok but I prefer it as normal.
Do you prepare your coffee in some other way?

What a great idea!! It saves a lot. Of course that is if you are drinking instant coffee. I prefer my ground. I don't have any ways to save except drinking less coffee... God forbid!!!

yes I use instant coffee. I have a machine for ground coffee but rarely use it. I have to start taking less coffee as well also due to sugar intake since I add two teaspoons with each cup. Have a nice day!

Hi dolphin, I've often used the flask method for taking coffee outside the house but I make a big jug of coffee and pour it straight into the flask, not just the hot water as you do. When I'm out on the fishing boat it is good to have it to drink as the usual way is to make cold coffee on the boats and I hate cold coffee. Also I used to take a flask to language classes as they were 4 hours long and I needed the boost. It's given me the idea though to make a flask of coffee in the morning at home instead of keep making separate cups.

Hi Thea, I do only hot water since I'm at home but of course I mix it with the coffee when I need to take with me unless I take separate coffee. that way I save a bit of gas.
