I can't believe that the city of Miami Florida has nothing better to do than to pick on a pet rooster that has become a favorite local celebrity. As reported by the AP, the city is wasting time and taxpayer money to pursue evicting Mr Clucky from his long-time home. There are links in the article if you would like to send a letter of support. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090801/ap_on_re_us/us_odd_evicting_mr_clucky
This bird is not just a farmyard resident. He has become a sought after tourist attraction, and has appeared on CBS National News, The Today Show, has been a mascot for EarthSave, Critical Mass, PETA and was voted Best Activist in Miami Beach in 2008.
I'm glad that Mr Ed didn't live in Miami...he might have ended up in my Jello.

I saw this on the news yesterday. Sadly cities have nothing else better to do than enforce such things w/o exception. I know they make these "city" rules for a reason but I think Mr.Clucky can be the exception to the rule.

yes i guess thats kind of rediculous. why would they even bother with one or 2 poultry? its an old law i imagine and only there to keep someone from having a chicken farm in town wonder why the owner even let the landlord know

I can understand laws to prevent city dwellers from raising farm animals on their properties. However, on an individual basis (for pets like Mr Clucky), and for a fee, the city could reclassify a critter from a farm animal to a domestic pet or a possession. That way the city could profit from the fees, and well as then being able to profit from public appearances by the critter itself.
