Twilight or Sookie Stackhouse novels

Which novels do you prefer: Sookie Stackhouse or Twilight? Tell me why. I have been staying away from Twilight, but I like the Sookie Stackhouse novels. Both are of the vampire genre. I have been leery of Twilight though because I have heard it is aimed toward pre-teen and teenage girls more or less.
