I finally broke down and created my first blogger blog.

Well I decided I have been struggling long enough to make money online. I know from what I've seen blogger blogs tend to pop up in google searches quite often. I know that they can also be used as a great resource for getting referrals and promoting programs so I decided it was time to try it.
I have been working online now for about 5 years, but I've never been very good at getting referrals to anything other than ptc sites, and even getting referrals for that has been a struggle. I am hoping and praying that with this new blog things will get better. I also added in the adsense because I know I can generate income from there.
Now I need to learn some SEO skills and other stuff to help get my blog up there on google. Do you have any good tips for me?
What have you found to be the pros and cons of having a blog?

yes they do pop up rather often don't they, however many of these sites are no longer maintain as it is a tough job. However many would be put off by your title, " you won't get rich but you can try" it is honest but not what people like to hear. Does it sounds nicer if I put something like "adding cents to your roads to riches"
It is more positive statement one and you are not lying, you are only adding cents each time
just a though. By the way I have a space I would like to invite you to showcase your blog. would you be interested.

You are very correct about the title thank you for pointing it out to me. I do like to be honest and if there is a more positive way to do so then awesome! Thank you for the suggestion anything helps for sure. Yes I would gladly except the space to showcase my blog. As I'm just starting out I can use the exposure. Thank you and happy mylotting.

i just started to make my blog few days ago.. i think it's another great way to make referrals for us. i'm a newbie too just like you, so i can only give you little tips. the tips to increase your blog traffic: 1. promote your blog in social website like mylot, facebook, ets. and ask your friend to visit your blog. 2. join in some blogger forum. 3.visit other blog and post comment or review there. 4.exchange link to your blog with other blog. 5.registered your blog in lots search engine.
thats some tip i read from other blogger and currently doing. hope this tip will help you.

The way I understand it, SEO technique depends on keyword density. That means you want to try and mention your main keyword in every paragraph if possible because the search engine is looking for the most instances of the word and it will list your blog first in a search result if you have enough instances of the keyword..
