I have worked in retail for a couple of years now and I was wondering if any other retail workers are frustrated with all the rude customers who come into their stores from a day to day basis?!

I understand what you are going through I worked in retail for 3 years. I like it at first because of the discount but I hated having to clean up after someone esle. I hated to clean out the fitting room. You wouldn't believe the things customers left in the fitting room. I also hate when they see you cleaning up an area they come right back behind you and mess it up again.

I agree. I believe shoppers who have never worked in retail need to at least be respectful of others or work in a store for one day. Treat other how you want to be treated, what ever happened to that golden rule?! Shoppers need to be taught some manners and etiquette!

I don't work in retail right now but I did from 11/07 to 1/6/09. I worked in commissioned sales in the electronics department and on the contrary, I found most customers to be very pleasant and easy to deal with. So sorry that you are having such negative experiences.

I don't currently work in retail but I did 9 days work experience in a shop last year and I really feel for you as I had no idea how hard working in a shop was - especially all of the standing up. Although, there was only a couple of instances where I found a customer to be rude to me. Perhaps I found it truly awful as I wasn't paid a single penny for the work but I still make sure I put items back in the right places wherever I go now knowing how awful it is to find where they go when you work there and have to put them back!
