Frequent shifting of channels is liably to hurt eyes more. It is said during shift the screen will give drastic changes of brightness. So better close eyes at the moment, blink eyes after shifting to stimulate tear shedding, and muscle moving, in the attempt to reduce fatigue.

Good morning zhuhuifen. actually I don't have the practice to change channels at all if watching television which I hardly bother with at all during the summer months. I hate to have it on in the background though and never channel hop, if there is something specific I choose to watch then I will turn it on for that programme only.

I will occasionally surf through channels when I'm trying to find something to watch. However, when I'm doing that, it's usually through the TV guide of our satellite. It's a little difficult to surf through the channels manuarl since they're mixed in with the HD channels. It seems like the channels get stuck when we're going through the HD stuff.0

Hi. zhuhuifen46. No, not all of the time will I do this. I only shift through the channels when I can't find what I want to look at on the TV. If I shift through the channels it is only one time in a day. I don't shift through the channels all of the time. I only do it when my kids or I are looking for something interesting to watch on television.

Guilty! I have noticed that I have a short attention span and I get easily bored with what I am watching, unless it's Survivor or am watching basketball. But any other shows, I normally notice myself having the tendency to switch channels quite often, especially during commercial breaks.

Oh dear, I must really be harming my eyes. I spend a long time at my computer screen and I'm always flicking through channels on TV without blinking!
Thanks for informing me, I'll be more cautious in the future.

Sometimes I do shift channel while watching TV. Usually when there is a commercial on I do not like I will shift to see what is on another channel. I have never heard that it was bad for the eyes. I have heard that if you sit to close to a TV it is not good for your eyes.

I change frequently when I want to watch something interesting but I can't find any. I change to see on which channel some interesting shows are going on. Yes, I agree frequently shifting hurts eyes but I never do it often, But each time I open the TV first I check all the channel. If I get some interesting things going on in some channel, I don't change.
