I do still read conventional book, but I do agree many people switching from traditional book to Internet since when we read or buy a book, we just need a little part of the information store there. With Internet, we could find that little part specifically.
But, nothing can replace the feeling when reading traditional book.

Oh yes, internet has taken away a good hobby of reading books from cover to cover. Now people have no time to do that anymore. Internet surfing has consumed most of their time.

Of course it is not encouraging to stop reading books. Books do give a detailed account of facts and figures while the net you need to go from site to site to look for details. Books are of course more convenient. It cost money to be using the internet while books are afordable

Well I can't really judge for people, but for me I can say that is absolutely not true! I love reading and I have always loved reading as a child. I mean it's not like you can find a whole novel and a legit fact book on the internet, can you?
I love reading and having the books with me. I use the internet for video educational movies, but reading also rocks my life!

I love reading! Reading anything, and I do read a lot online, however there is NOTHING that beats the feeling of curling up with a good book. I love the feeling, the smell (especially old books, they smell SOOO AWESOME!), and the satisfication of turning the pages while your favorite hero or heroin is being chased, kicking butt or in that passionate love scene that will be burnt into your head for days.
Yeah. BOOKS ROCK.

Hey,
Yea you are sort of right, ever since the Internet has come out, I don't really think many people actually sit down and read books anymore. I mean, like I don't really do it much either, I just sit on my computer. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

I still read books even though I am surfing the net everyday. In fact I have book collections and I still buy books. It has no substitute with real books, it is still one of the best past times.

I personally love to read. I could curl up with books for days. I love reading but because of the internet I think I am going to buy one of those electronic reader thingies that the name of slips my mind so I can download books to it and save the clutter of the piles of books i currently own.

depends on how you see it
other people think of it as a bad thing
yet it brings about good things too
internet has both advantages and disadvatages to it

I spend a great deal, too much actually, time on the internet, but I still also read many books. I read the Twilight series, 4 books, in about 3 weeks. I just read a book in 2 days last week & I have 2 with me right now to read. I started one the other day & will read the next one when that book is finished. I also find time to read the newspaper, watch a little bit of TV & watch some movies when I can tear myself away from the internet! :)

It is not that people are not reading books since intenet has come. Books can not be replaced. When we read books we get total indepth knowledge about the subject about which we are reading. Such kind of knowledge only books can provide us. And if we compare reading books online on internet then one thing is sure, the feeling of taking a book in hand and reading can not be replaced by what we read on the screen of our PCs and laptops.

I still read at least one book a week, go to book signings, trade books with a good friend and I love it. Really, I can't imagine someone who really enjoys reading would stop reading because of the Internet. The things that people enjoy about reading just can't be found in the same capacity on the internet.

I disagree...I see people reading all the time. I am often seen reading a book where ever I am. I work in a library so I see people reading all the time. If they are not on the computer, they are looking for books and then sitting down to read them.

Oh, I still read books and time magazine. Some of the information on the net are updated but some are incomplete so I still rely on books. If you want a complete facts we still have a book and I still do a research, i even visits our National Library if there are things or data I want to make complete. It is part of my job as a researcher. But when it comes to conveniency, you are right, it is all instore in the internet. You can access information quickly.

it's just that some information on the internet are not verified like the ones you see on blogs.but if you go to legit sites like wikipedia etc...you'll surely get quality information

I used to believe that but I think once a reader...always a reader..if you spend any time on an airplane or in an airport....for one example you'll see tons of readers! I see alot at the beaches too! I do think it has declined somewhat....but the die hards at anything won't give up what they enjoy!

i do still read and love books even though i am a big fan of the internet. lol. i do not trusts some information that are published online, there are just few sights that i do trust. and i am still very much dependent on books. books will always be books for me, it provides me comfort when i read books that i love, it is different with the internet, i could cuddle with a book in my bed and read all day long. it is just sad that readers of books are indeed getting fewer because of the internet especially with the new generation.

Not really, internet cannot replace books in anyway...reading through the monitor and reading book both are different...people prefer reading book than reading stuff on monitors..I am talking about reading n pages of a book...
For some immediate info may be we cling onto the computer..but otherwise books are also preferred.

I still read books, I love reading novels and anything that interests me. I feel much better when I'm reading a book rather than reading in the internet although internet is really becoming vast and having lots of information nowadays.
