Who is your favorite author? What authors would you suggest? I have been meaning to get into more authors. I've been stuck on John Grisham and Anne Rice my whole life. I'm a 21 year old college student if that helps in your suggestions.

Well, my favourite author is Diana Gabaldon. I also love Jane Austen, Terry Pratchett, Minette Walters and Martina Cole. The last two are modern authors who write thrillers and crime novels, very fast-paced and exciting. Pratchett is fantasy, wizards and parodies.

I'm a big John Grisham fan myself but I've stumbled across a couple of other authors in the last couple of years that I love. Try Janet Evanovich for light hearted, screwball comedy mysteries; Luanne Rice for relationship novels set on the New England coast and Stephen Frey for a John Grishma type of story set in the financial environment. Happy reading

I love Anne Rice stuffs! I read The Queen Of The Damned. Well, I didn't really know that she wrote all the vampire series but I read the book because of the movie. I did not know at the beginning that I have to read the other books before I read The Queen of The Damned. But I found the book was really interesting. Though in some parts I don't really understand what they're talking about but after some times I got used to it and enjoyed the reading. I think she is a really talented writer, and I have never heard that she is writing Christian books for now. But I would like to collect the other vampire series if I got time.

Well Anne Rice is my most favorite author, I have read and reread all of her books. the Christ ones I have not read. I also have started reading Laurell Hamilton, both her anita blake series and her meredith gentry series. Gregory maguire is pretty good and yes I have read Stephine meyers. i am not into the grisham and patterson books, i dont know what it is. i tend to search for an author and read a book if i like it i need to read everything they have written so it takes me some time before i try a new one out. i'll have to check out the de sade books out, i also tend to like the vampire books as i'm sure you could tell from my list here.

Me too, I really like John Grisham very much and it drives me crazy each time I went to book shop and saw a new John Grisham book and not able to buy it. Usually I borrowed the book from my friend nad from the library. He is indeed a great author. Once I start reading his book, I cannot put it down. Happy Mylotting

Hi bigredbaseball, you are joking I hope, you can't just stick exclusively to two authors, you need to read many authors to broaden your reading and if you haven't done it yet you need to go back and take a look at some of the classics before just getting stuck into modern authors, even though I enjoy the two you've listed as well. For a few classics which aren't too girly, having seen your current tastes, try some Emile Zola, particularly 'Therese Raquin', and Doestovesky's 'Crime and Punishment'. Hope you enjoy.

My favorite authors list includes: Patricia Briggs, Mary Ann Mitchell, Rebecca York, Alisa Sheckley, Ayn Rand, and Edgar Allen Poe. Since you mentioned that you have read Anne Rice books, you may actually like the DeSade Series by Mary Ann Mitchell. Patricia Briggs also has a few series you may enjoy.
