Do you tag private messages?

Hello fellow mylotters! When I was still new here i didn't know how to use tags. I have always been wondering what it is for. However, I realized later on that it does help when you put tags on your discussions because it helps in the search. Some even suggested that will actually help in your earnings because someone can easily find your discussion. So with that suggestion I started putting tags in my new discussions. Tags in discussion I can understand but do you have any idea what putting tags for your private messages do? I mean, do you put tags in your private messages? What do you do it for? Do you think it helps or its just a feature that no one really uses?

Hi tomjoad, I never tag private messages at all as they are just that, private. On the other hand with discussions I add at least five tags to my own as someone gave a helpful tip to do that on here. It is not just because it makes a discussion easier to locate but to avoid some unscrupulous person going in and tagging it with inappropriate things like violated, adult content etc which will put your discussion in a bad light to others seeing your discussion. AS it was troll yesterday I noticed that a few untagged or tagged with only one word had been attacked with unsuitable tags, so beware.

No, i don't. tags in messages only buys me more time and it's not worth the effort. because the person that i message with always replies to me. i thin it's one the features in messages that mylot should take out..

Adding tags to discussions doesn't improve your earnings, or atleast I wouldn't think so. I really find there no point in tagging private messages though, I mean they are private messages, you don't need tags for them to find them, if you know what I mean.

well, i know that it doesn't really improve your earnings however if you put it tags people can easily find your discussion. so they can respond to it and that will give you additional earnings. hey, i'm not speaking own words here. i'm quoting who told me that before. well, i think in theory it does really work. anyway, yeah i agree with you. private tags are total nonsense.

I only tag discussions because why would you need tags for private messages when only you and the other person will read the messages. I'm not sure why they let you tag private messages but I think it's really unnecessary. I don't think they even pay you for private messaging back and forth.

I tag discussions that I start, so that if someone is interested in the topic my discussion will be easier for them to find. I did not even know that you could tag private messages, because I haven't sent one to anybody. I do not see why I would tag it, though, because the message is supposed to only be viewable by the person I am sending it to and me. Therefore, it seems pointless to add tags to it.
