What Would You Do

You're alone, feeling unloved and lonely when there's a knock at the door. You open it and standing there is someone that you like who says that although it's short notice, they'd like to spend the day with you. Would you shut the door on them telling them to go away, or would you say 'Yes". Where would you want them to take you? What would you do?

Aw, i feel a lot like that most of the time. But if that happens, as you have described it then i would say yes, and if it's ok with them i would just want to sit on the couch with them and have a nice hot of coffee or chocolate and just talk. Or even just sit there and enjoy the moment that we have together silently. Then, just let time decide what happens next......

You think so? I love snuggling up on the couch especially during my down moments and it will surely help if someone snuggles up with me, especially someone, close to my heart.

Ooh I hate unexpected visitors but I'm not snobbish and impolite so I will let them in and entertain them for a while. I will not go somewhere else, just stay home and maybe order take outs cause for sure I have no snacks ready for any visitor. That's just what I will do. Ciao!

That might be good anyway. A day at home with a friend could be fun.

Yep, I agree, I think that's what I'd do too, because I too hate unexpected visitors. But if you have nothing else to do, then why not?

I wish I had a day when I could feel lonely. I would go out for the day with anyone at the minute just to have some peace. I might even go with Mr Croc. As for feeling unloved, I've always got you and my grandsons so I never feel that.

That's good to hear. Of course If I'm there that's as good as being on your own anyway!

I guess I would say yes, it would also take my mind of things that I was thinking about As for what to do, well it depends really who it is and what the Person would like to do I would leave the Choice to the Person what they would like to do for the Day, as long as it does not mean walking all Day as I would collapse or we would not get far as a 10 minute walk takes me 20 lol and things like that Hugs to you xxx

I think if i was feeling lonely and unloved and someone showed up at my door wanting to spend time with me I'd be thrilled and totally willing to spend the day with them. I dont know where id want to go or what id want to do but just being with someone who wanted to be with me would make me feel much much happier.

P1ke- I would definately go with them for the day. Just the other day I was a bit down about some things going on financially due to our last major car repair, and a friend invited me for a walk. I put it off all day, and finally after the children's nap we went on that walk. It was the best two hour walk I had, and much needed to become balanced once again! We took the children to a near by park that has a large water four tier water fountain that the children are allowed to play in. My son ran around loving it, and the baby dipped her feet in while my friend and I talked. A wonderful evening. Namaste-Anora

I would totally say yes. I'd let them take me wherever. Maybe out for lunch in a nice restaurant, a stroll along the canal and whatever else. I don't see why I would say no to them if I had nothing else to do.

I would probably say yes! I have no idea where I'd like to go, though. I would love to go riding but I'm allergic to horses. I think I would like to go to my favorite Chinese restaurant then a circus!

I would then transform into "Crazy Cat Lady" from The Simpsons and start chucking my cats....but I only have 2, so I would then proceed to grab my bullhorn and just make noise while spraying them with pepperspray. Just because I like them/think they're cute, doesn't mean they're "Safe" to be around if they're resorting to stalking...lol

After scraping the smile off my face so that I CAN say yes, I'd open my door wide and let them in. I think fate (angels, fairies, carma...however it's called) has a way to give us what we need, when we need it. We just have to listen and see, knowing that our saving grace may not be in the form that we'd hoped. If it's you knocking on my door...you better hold your arms out wide 'cause I'm jumpin' in!

I'm not one for unexpected visitors, but I can go on a whim too. I'd go for it AND I HAVE BEFORE TOO! Some of the most fun I've had was just unplanned. I think because we don't have any expectations we just go with the flow. It's days like that, that are a blast to me. So yeah, I'd go - babysitter premitting.

I hate planning things and the best times I've had have always been spontaneous - so I'd be happy to see someone I liked. I'd like to go for a walk, out for lunch, or just stay at home and get to know the person better. People are always so much more interesting when you can talk one to one.

Actually I am ashamed to admit it but a few times I was feeling this way I did hide from people who came knocking on my door..I haven't done it though in about 10 years. Right now I would say hang on let me get ready and lets go..sometimes spending the day with a friend is what a person might need even though they might not think so in the beginning. Where would I want to go...I a simpleton. So maybe for a walk around the lake with a picnic..or to a movie or a Zoo.

Yep, sometimes the best ones is the simplest. Thanks and I accept that walk..might have to walk and think of each other..but we'd be there in mind since wouldn't be there in body.

Oh I'd let them in for sue. I can't imagine turning away someone that I cared about. I'd invite the person in and we'd just spend the day together...hang out. I wouldn't have any expectations or anything....we'd just have coffee and talk....can't predict any further than that.

Im gonna have to ask him, what did he have in mind, before I agree to anything. But of course that is just a formality since I will mostly likely say yes. Things like that doesnt happen everyday so grab the opportunity and go.LOL Well, asking what his plans for the day with me would be that I just dont want to leave the house with no skeleton of a purpose at hand. I mean if we were just going to wander aimlessly downtown then Id rather catch up on some sleep. Then again, given that these kinds of situation doesnt happen often, I might consider taking things as they come. Go where our feet would take us or something to that effect.LOL Would be nice to do something fun or just lounge around at a coffee place and let him tell his stories.

I think i would be very glad to see a friend if i was feeling that low. I think anywhere to get out of the house would be nice. I would like to drive to reelfoot lake which is about 40 miles away from my home. Haven't been down there in awhile. They have a really great restaurant there that i love to go to & eat fish & all the trimmings. to me that would be a great day.

I'm a bit of a recluse, so I know if I was feeling sad and lonely and there was a knock on the door, I'd hide under the bed. In the past I've often pretended I wasn't home because I enjoy being alone. Mind you, if Alan Rickman turns up and offers to take me to Cornwall, I'd crawl out from under the bed, brush off the fluffballs and maybe even put a bit of lippie on.
@p1kef1sh (45681)
6 Aug 09
How about if I turned up and took you to Cornwall - which is hell on earth right now as most of the country is jamming the road there and back; and it's raining too. I don't look good in lippie - but for you........
