I think if you smile to much you "LOL" a lot :D and each smile brings another to you and to people around you. I like No. "10" as some people I know :D thinks it is not nice to smile just like that like it needs a reason to.

I am currently reading a book by Taylor Caldwell about a school for young girls in which they are taught to smile demurely but not to smile too openly. Why? Because it would grow wrinkles! I was properly horrified to think of that being an excuse not to smile, but in reflection I did remember we were told the same rubbish about laughing when we were growing up in the 40's and 50's.
Number 10 on your list is quite interesting, as I have a hard time imagining someone seeing a newborn and NOT smiling.

that's nice. but there are people who really like making fake smiles just to prevent from seeing what's the real emotion inside or prevent older aging.this is probably one the nicest things on why should we smile all the times, even in the times of our own crisis. smile, some how keeps people from forgetting a bit of their problems. .

this is a very nice view. anyways smiling keeps our face muscles intact and nice. more muscles could also build up too. but we do smile to hide somethings that are bothering us but smiling can totally help us ease those stress, uneasiness and problems as well. smiling is one of the great stress reliever for me. thanks for responding my friend

Smile and the world smiles with you - and that is so true.
When I go to do the grocery shopping the assistant will greet all the customers almost in an automatic fashion. There is one customer that doesn't respond back to get her to raise her head - and then she sees their smile and she smiles too.
I do this in several of the shops I go to and it does change the day for the person who raises the smile

smiling always does brighten our days and so as the day of certain people whom you give your smile to them. when i once work in a fast food chain, we always greet our customers with a smile. because we know that with that we can add more brightness to our days.

Thank you so much for posting this. I hope a lot of mylotters read it and learn to smile more often. I tend to smile a lot, myself, out of habit. It's not a habit I'm ashamed of, though. A lot of people don't return my smile for one reason or another. I figure a lot of times they're just tired maybe. I have always heard that first fact you listed. I have also heard that it takes 72 muscles to frown and only 14 to smile. Kathy.

thanks for the response Kathy my friend. i sure do hope that many fellow mylotters will be able to read this. its always so nice to smile though people have second thoughts in smiling back. and sometimes we tend to be hurt by it but still we keep on smiling for everyone else. and that is so nice information, it takes 72 muscles to frown and only 14 muscles to smile.
