I think you would be better off starting your own blog than trying to make money off of twitter. Some people have been able to do it but it isn't easy. I recommend you get your own domain name and blog to establish yourself online.

I agree, it seems to me that having a blog to send people to is the best way to get subscribers and then introduce them to your valuable information regarding a specific niche or topic area.
