How many cat can produce child?

Cats can have anywhere from 1-5 kittens at a time. Working as a vet assistant I have never seen a cat produce more than 5 kittens. However, remember a cat can have a litter every few months as they will mate again after having their litter. They go right back into heat immediately following birth. So take care not to let your female cat outside the whole time she is nursing her litter.

I have seen cats have litters with as few as one and as many as 12 (kittens).

so long as there are 2 intact cats, they can have kittens. the only intact cats in my home are too young to fix yet

I think this is a good question I am gonna look it up and add a link to where I think I found a good answer just off the top of my head I would say maybe 5 at the most but I have a neigbour that had a cat have kittens a few days ago and she only had 2 of them. I guess it all depends on the cat and what it can handle at the time. if you mean how many kittens can a cat have in a litter (which is what i am gathering from your topic) I know they are capable of producing quite a few. It really depends on how often they are allowed to mate with a male cat during the time when they are in heat. Cants are differnt from humans and a lot of other animals as they do not "ovulate" the way we do. Instead of releasing one of multiple eggs and hoping to get them fertilized when they mate, cats actualy release eggs WHEN they mate, so if your fmeale cat gets many many opportunities to mate with a male cat during this time, you have a possibility for many kittens, assuming all the eggs get fertilized. That being said, i would have to wager a guess that the average sized kitten yield per littler is 4 to 5. Just from my experience and also from hearing from others whose cats have had litters. Granted i have had a cat who had a litter of just one kitten...and i have read about cats that have such big litters that they can't feed them all and people have to either step in and bottle feed the kittens, or find a surrogate nuursing cat mother to take them on. Cats only have 4 (i think, if i am wrong i apologize) sets of teats, which means they only have the ability to even try to feed 8 kittens at once, but even with that capability, often the mother doesn't produce enough milk to give nutrition to that many.
