People says dogs are man's best friend. But dog smells bad, they do not know how to groom themselves. Cats are the companions, but mostly people throw the kittens away. Others have too much cat pets.. What do you think would be the best pets to take care at home?

I grew up with a bird (my Mom wouldn`t let me have a dog), so I trained him to act like a dog. When I finally grew up & moved out, the first thing I did was go looking for a dog to be my companion. A few years later, my dog brought home a feral kitten, so now I have a dog & a cat. My first preference would always be a dog, but I do love my cat. Of course, my cat acts more like a dog (he does tricks & is very clingy, always wanting to know where I am & be petted).

It all depends on your living arrangements and how much time you have. A dog requires more attention and exercise. Cats are more independent. A dog will love you unconditionally, a cat may be moody and choose when it wants affection. Cats do well as indoor pets, dogs do better when they can get outside.
I enjoy both dogs and cats.

there are more pet cats than dogs, but a cat owner is more likely to have more than one cat than a dog owner is likely to have more than one dog.
I have a dog, but the household has 3 dogs because we each have a dog. Having said that, I have a BUNCH of cats.
