This is a difficult one to answer and depends on your system setup and your level of experience. I have tried Ubuntu but it ran too slow for my liking and then moved on to PCLos which is a good beginners distro, but then I thought as this is based on Mandriva why not try the orginal instead so switched to Mandriva. After a spell with them I once again thought I would see what else there is so tried Puppy Linux which is very good for older computers as it runs from memory, then I tried Vector linux, a variant of Slackware and now I am with Arch Linux which I am very impressed with, nice and fast and using the XFCE desktop, although to set it up can be tricky for a beginner, although there is a Live CD version going around the net. The advantage or disadvantage with Linux is that there is so much choice that you can try out as many as you want and if you like it, stick with it, if not try another. Normally you will find the Forums extremely helpful, so if you have a problem normally someone will be able to help you sort it out quickly. My advice is to go to say distrowatch.com and then download a few different distros, some larger mainstream ones and perhaps a couple of smaller lesser known ones. Burn the iso's to cd's creating the live distros, and then try them out and see what you prefer, although be careful it can get addictive switching distros.

Thanks for sharing you ideas. But can you tell me which OS works very well with the very minimum PC requirement ( ex. pentium4 2.6GHz with 512 of RAM). Do you know the reason why other Linux OS runs slow compared to others?

By the way, additional question. Are netbooks sold in the market today, running with intel atom processor, capable of handling linux operating system. I mean, the performance of the netbook is still good.

I have heard most of the Linux OSes only use keyboard and doesn't use a mouse, meaning, it's not as user friendly as windows, so most people get windows instead of linux and other OS brands.

I believe you got it wrong about linux OS not using mouse. You could use the mouse the way you use it in windows. Maybe at first time use it might not be as friendly as windows, but as you are used to it, it would gonna be easy.
