I would be fooling myself if I said that I don't get tensed. We all do, and its become a part of our life. When such a situation arises, how do you relieve yourself? I have heard that yoga helps to relieve tension, but when you're tensed, how do you get motivated to practice yoga?

Hi, I was in therapy to learn how to relieve tension. I was taught deep breathing exercises and meditation. I was also told to go for walks everyday, listen to relaxing music and most importantly to journal. All of this does help but you have to work at it.

The best way to reduce your tension is to do some kind of meditation or yoga especially the pranayama which is the best to keep you cool always. And also when you get tension it is always good to drink as much as water that will reduce your hyper tension..Take care.

I usually listen to music, i do yoga but not all the time i am tense. I do it every other day, the motivation i use is the whole "Better now than later." I love to put things off until another time, but lately i am learning to do things when the opportunity presents itself to me. Say i am on the computer and my mom tells me to pick up my room, i will be frustrated, but pause the computer scene and clean. Better than doing it later when mom actually makes me. She has ways of making me learn, ha ha.

i do a couple of things. i listen to music, i find thats a great stress reliever. i also play the bass guitar which is my favorite way to relieve stress. i can get out what i need to and it sounds great. Working out on my bowflex and using my punching bag are great stress relievers too. All of these things work great for me. I think everyone needs to find what works for them because everyone is different and somethings will work better for others.
