How many things (pillow, bolster & blanket) on your bed when you are sleeping?

Some people have good sleeping habit and they only need a pillow and a blanket when sleeping. For me, I need to have two pillows, a bolster and a blanket in order to sleep soundly. One pillow is to use for sleeping and the other is for me to rest my feet. I also cannot sleep without my bolster. And I need my blanket cos I sleep in an air-con room every night. In fact, my hubby beside hugging me, he also hug his bolster while sleeping....so when we first get married and sleep together, both of us are fighting over 1 bolster.....lol....My mum considered it as bad sleeping habit to have so many things on the bed while sleeping. So what about you guys??? Do you just sleep with a pillow or you also need other things like bolster or teddy bear??? Very curious to see your responses. Cheers =))

I learned something new again today. I was gonna ask what a 'bolster' is but just searched for it instead. Was surprised to know what it was since Ive been hugging mine for all of my life.LOL
Anyway, it would depend on the situation. I dont sleep that good when I sleep beside someone. Cause Im fond of switching sides when sleeping. I get conscious in turning from right to left since I dont want the person sleeping beside me to wake up. So in those cases Im in a stationary position(flat on my back) with my hands on my stomach and try to not move. I just turn my head from right to left. So in this case, Id only need a pillow and a blanket.
When I have free reign on the bed, I have many pillows. The pillow for my head, my feet, 2 for my legs, a bolster^_^ and another bigger pillow for the other side. They're positioned as if Im boxed in. Just a habit I suppose.
Aside from those, I find it hard to sleep without a blanket, be it scorching hot or biting cold I need to have a blanket.

Guess the right term for it is not really taken into detail by most people.
Well, in this country we call it "Tandayan/Sandayan", that's roughly the translation of it. Other people call it the "Hotdog" pillow because of its shape I guess added with the people in this country's love for food.

I have my head pillow, my bolster, my quilt and my husband! That is enough to make the bed a little bit crowded. Add in his set of pillows and occasionally when my two year old son decides to join us in bed, I wish to have a bigger size than KING size bed!

Hello submerryn, with your little one joining in bed, I can imagine how squeezy the bed has become.....hahaha....And, when my girl decided to join us in bed, both of us were so worried that we might squashed her and we can hardly sleep during those times. Thanks for your response =))

I used to have 2 babies and my hubs on our king sized bed before. It is so crowded until I could not make any move or turn at all. LOL. Lucky I have buy another mattress for my elder child. So now only I get more freedom on the bed.

In my bed, I have two big pillows, one bolster, a blanket and a stuffed toy. I can't sleep without blanket and a bolster. I don't why, maybe I'm used to to it. Sometimes, even when it's quite hot, I still use my blanket, I just remove it when its really hot. The funny thing is, when I use my blanket, I don't cover my feet. Haha! Except when its cold. ^^

Hello there, thanks for your response. If you need 3 pillows to sleep on, then it's time to throw your pillows away cos they have flattened. Both my hubby and myself use pillow filled with dried husks and seeds. It can contour according to our neck so that we don't get stiff neck in the morning. Cheers =))

I personally just need a pillow and a blanket. I don't need to have all sorts of stuff to sleep. I mean, I really don't even need to have a bed. I can sleep on anything as long as I have a pillow. The floor, a dirt, doesn't matter to me!

Hmmm.... I cannot imagine sleeping in such a crowded bed. But I guess you and your wife find it cozy and comfy to sleep in such condition. So, with you little one sleeping together, it should be very very crowded....hahaha.... Have a great weekend ahead =))

Right now, I only use a pillow. My room is warm enough that I don't need a blanket although I do sometimes use the sheet. When it is cold, I do use a blanket. I don't know what a bolster is. I usually curl up and often move around when I sleep.

So a bolster is like what I have always heard called a body pillow. Thanks for the info.

Hello there, I am indeed very surprised to find that many people do not know what is a bolster. A bolster is something like a pillow stuffed with cotton inside but it is long cylindrical shape. It is for you to hug around it while sleeping. Cheers =))

It is summer time for us now, so its warmer at nights...on our bed we have 4 pillows, 2 for each hubby and me...and our comforter... but we tend to not sleep under it in the summer time, we both have a small throw that we use (one for each) unfortunately lately our 2 kids tend to take over our bed and some nights hubby and I have ended up sleeping on the floor and our kids get our bed...
not fun when you wake up on the floor and the kids are in the bed!! LOL
Happy mylotting.

My king sized bed will never have an empty space. LOL
I am just like you , need 1 bolster, 2 blankets, 1 is for covering my body, another 1 is for covering apart of my head, because I don't like the fan blows on my face. I also need 2 pillows. 1 pillow is for my head and 1 more big one is for my feet. Is that too much?

Hi there!
Ohh I need three pillows, a blanket and two throw pillows to have a good sleep. Two pillows for my head, two throw pillows for my feet and 1 pillow to hug, and of course I need a blanket as we are on an airconditioned room. Why two pillows on my head? I feel drowned when I sleep on only one pillow. Well if it's a bad habit I don't know but we all need to have a comfortable sleep. Good Day!

Oh yes, I do understand about sleep higher to ease the stuffy nose. Cos I always do it for my daughters whenever they got a bad flu and have blocked nose. So with their head elvated higher will ease their airway and enable them to sleep better. Take care, dear =))

I sleep with a lot of stuff on my bed, and it's all layered in a specific order: Red sheet, black/white blanket (it's black on one side, white on the other), two throw blankets, side-by-side, one large comforter, the blanket I sleep under, and a bunch of pillows that I have spread across where I lay my head and the side of the bed that is up against the wall. I also sleep with a stuffed dog, but he gets lost in my epic mass of pillows.

I used to be crazy about having all couple of those on my bed like 3 pillows, 2 blankets, couple stuffed animals to be sleeping with together! But now I have only 1 pilow, 2 blankets on the bed ,that's it. Because my nose allergic problem was getting worse so I needed to get rid of the stuffed animals.

I'm a simple one. I'd just need a pillow and a blanket. But the pillow must be really soft. However i have two big dolls of dolphin and one teddy bear on my bed. Before going to sleep, i used to moving them from my bed. I can't sleep if the bed is full of things except my lovely pillow.

Hihi =)) For me, I prefer my pillow not so soft cos I used to have stiff neck if I did not sleep in the correct positin. So now, I sleep on a pillow filled with dried husks and seeds which will contour and support my head and neck. Thanks for your response o
