Has anyone else had this happen just lately. you type a great response and put care into it and bang its gone, disappeared. you have to start all over. you are left wondering what the heck did I do that my response just plain disappeared? if you have, what in the world is causing this? did I do something wrong? I need your input before I go bananas here.

Hi Hat. That happened to me twice. Ever since then, I type my response, but before I post it, I copy it. Then if it disappears I can get a new response sheet and paste in the copy. Hope that helps.

Well hello good to see you're still with us. I somehow lost you off my friends list, did a friend reguest and have heard nothing. Anyway Yes I have had this happen and your number 5 response also applys to me many times. Like you said it just plain disappears and how frustrating it is Honestly. If I know I am going to write a long post or response I now often do the copy thing then if I loose it I can go back and paste that way I only loose a portion of my work. Good luck and take care dear friend.

No, I have not.Sometimes they get hung up and do not post, then I copy them, close the unlucky discussion, open it back up and paste it in. I had a friend who "thought" they had this problem, but it turned out the discussion starter had started two identical discussions because he thought the first one did not post. He posted to one, then read the next one.

There are two disappearing acts that often leaves me frustrated when I am responding here. The first one is when I am typing half way through my comp suddenly hangs and when I try to check it out the whole typed response just erased itself. I have to rewind my thinking mind to start all over again. The second thing is when I response to a discussion and post it with confidence only to discover it has been deleted together with the discussion. What a waste of my time when such undesirable thing happens.

this literally JUST Happened to me right before finding this discussion. I posted something on the news article about Katherine Jackson receiving custody of the Jackson children and it just dissapeared. This is the first time this has happened to me (to my knowledge) and I don't like it one bit because my response to that discussion was pretty long...and I did put care into it....![](/Content/images/emotes/angry.gif)

Hi Hatley, this is always happening to me especially if it's a long response. The odd time it's managed to come back when I press 'refresh' but on the whole they've disappeared into cyber space and it's either type them again or give up. It is so annoying though.

Hey Welcome Back! How have you been mummy!!??
I used to have this before until last month may be. But now, surprisingly, when the connection went off the other day amidst my creative writing spree I nearly frowned only to find my response posted there on refreshing!! ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

It's sometimes caused by a lag in your computer or a weak signal. It drives me nuts too. I can post 100 discussions with no problem then suddenly, I'll type something really, really, noteworthy and it will be gone. People will tell you to copy all your discussions to Word before you post but really, who has time for that?

Hi Hatley. Yes, this has happened to me in the past. Before I was allowed to copy and paste I lost a few posts from either my Internet connection or mylot being down. Some of these were rather long and thought out. Needless to say it was frustrating as well as discouraging. I promised myself that after I could copy and paste that I would always use this feature as a backup just in case so that I would never have to go through that again. It might take a little longer to do it this way, but it's better to do it this way than to risk losing what you had typed out.
Happy mylotting!

I have had this happen...and usually when I've typed a longer response. No idea what causes it, but it's certainly frustrating. For me, it disappears as I'm posting it. What I've been doing to prevent it from happening again is before posting, I copy it to my clipboard (highlite my response and hit Ctrl-C). That way if it disappears, my work is saved on my clipboard and I just paste it (Ctrl-V) onto a new response.
