This might be a very silly question, but this is become more and more a reality as the economic crisis continues.People will have to save money and one of the things they will cut is the cable. Why? Because you can technically 'watch tv' another way and it is free. It is the how many college and teens do, and are reducing less and less time on T.V and instead spending more time on the internet. This is because on the Internet, there is so much more you can do.
You can watch the funniest video on Youtube, chat with friends on MSN, Facebook, communicate with your fans on your blog or twitter, and have funny chatting on Mylot :) If you are American, you can literally watch your favorites shows for free on hulu.com, which is owned by some channels you see on T.V, and you can watch shows like Lost, Family Guy, etc.
Basically , the T.V is a luxury expense in these time, and the Internet is more and more becoming an essential, as more and more people work from home, harnessing it's powers ( like us) to make that little extra.
Does anyone still watch a lot of T.V, or are you reducing more time on the couch , and more time in front of the computer monitor?
Or are you spending less time on both and having a nice summer outside, enjoying the summer breeze with only a weeks left!

Hey,
No I actually do not watch a lot of TV now, because the Internet has probably been a sort of replacement for me. I mean, when it comes to watching TV, their is nothing else that is good, which is on TV, that is why I don't watch it. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

I watch less TV these days because I spend most of my time in front of the computer. I am working online and my time is flexible where I can watch TV any time I want to. Moreover, most of my favorite shows have reached the season finale almost at the same time. So, I have some time to take my eyes off the box.

Haha, I guess this is not a silly question, yet may be a commun question. Well, for me, as I'm busy with working all day, I do not have spare time to watch a lot TV, and I kind of believe watch a lot TV is a wasting of time and energe.

This is true that people have reduced watching TV. More certainly for younger generation. They have started to spend more and more time on Internet. This is pretty logical as they can get more information, more fun from Internet and at much cheaper prices than TV. Also sometimes people stating away from there homes, like people staying in hostels, don't have any access to TV so naturally they get more inclined to Internet which is easily accessible to them. Not onlu TV, Internet is also replacing the newspapers as well. It is easier to search for the news over internt. Also the detail available over internet are much more as compared to the newspapers. So according to me may be in the coming times TV will be fully replaced by Internet.

And sometimes I have one that comes on tuesdays and/or wednesdays. So I hope cable sticks around. At least till the season finale for the majority of my shows. LOL!

Yes, i do. Watching TV in the sence the NatGeo, Discovery, Animal Planet, News, etc are the good source of knowledge. Knowledge in all respect, it enterten also when we are tense. But the idea of entrten varry from people to people. coming to a point of internet all may not find intrest in it, as everything on it is not free. one has to be more presicse about his need and intrest in case of internet. No doubt one can get more knowkedge than TV but the selection comes in between. Both stands good at their respective place.

I rarely watch TV these days as I have been busy with the family biz and stuffs. I'm also thinking about going to orientations available for me but I haven't got much time to fix my schedule yet to attend to those seminars/orientations.

I dont see TV now, since last six month, I have removed cable from home. Now just see CD and DVDs at home and on Pc i do work, So my time saves very much. I am feeling better since I dont see TV. All channels capture bad news and gossips. Which is not useful to anybody. Just everybody want to waste time in front of tv. IN internet you can see whatever you like not that which media people want to show for their profit. So become reliant and see only which you like.

Now i don't watch TV. The reason is simple. i have the computer and i have much to do on the Internet. But i do miss the time when i don't have a computer. But how time flies. I just can't go back and even if i start to watch TV again i can't feel how i felt in the past.

Not anymore. I'm tired most of the time when I get back from work. Although, I get to watch little TV on my days off. Or, when I'm too tired to go online, I put on my DVD and watch 'til I doze off. Here in my country, you get to watch too many telenovelas. Good thing we have cable :)

Yes,i do.Watching TV plays an important role in our daily lives. In fact it is one of my favorite hobbies. Almost everybody watches TV some time every day making it perhaps the most common hobby in modern society. It brings us a lot of benefits. Watching TV can increase our knowledge of the world, give us information to improve our lives and provide a lot of fun. People learn many things through TV such as economics, history, geography, and culture. Many TV programs provide the latest news of domestic and international events. Watching news every night on TV is many people s most important routine.Find the right channels, and you will have programs of education. If you are a conscientious student, the TV set will be a great aid to you. Watching TV is an indispensable hobby for everybody. Today, many children spend too much time before the little screen, ignoring their studies, outdoor activities and even their families. Watching TV has become part of our lives. TV, as a convenient communication tool, is very useful for us in many areas. Various programs fit everyone s need, like cooking and exercise to keep the body fit. Nearly every family owns a TV and watches TV programs. We should teach the kids to spend their time wisely with other hobbies and outdoor activities. Nothing is more entertaining and relaxing for me than watching TV after a whole day of study. These kinds of programs always help us do better in our daily living. There are many programs to teach us about such things as home decorating, home renovating and carpentry. It is not unusual to see the people and places totally different from your own anymore because people can see these things through TV.
