Hi every one :) Sometimes I feel like I wana get out of the car and walk under the sun in a great day in street to get till I reach my university OR just walk to get what I want her or there !! BUT the problem is my country " Qatar " is modern and people get used to us the transportation alot ,so no one would walk in the street to go to somewhere !! our streets is totally empty !! I always prefer to walk if I'm in other country , Europe or in Hongkong the transportation I know they are cooool and comfortable specially when you got your own driver like me but sure you would feel like how about walking and change !! so, do you all prefer walking to do stuff out or using transportation easier ??

oh my god, hong kong really is great...! The transportation there is so technologically advanced, it's amazing!! I'd prefer walking to burn off calories and enjoy the day before I die at any given moment. Only thing is, the heat and flat foot problems hinder my capabilities to walk far... :(

I prefer to walk too. I love walking because it can save money if it is only near and it is also a form of exercise. Burning calories by walking is great too than direct exercise as you are getting tired and sweating easily. While you are walking it is just mild sweat and it is not that tiresome than other types of burning calories.

i prefer walking even when its raining because it safes money and the places i go are never more than a few miles and its a waste waiting for a bus and paying for it. Also i like walking as you can drink and eat and you dont get idiots on a bus singing or being annoying.

Hi Novelist, It is depend on the distance of the place that I want to go. If it is near, I prefer to walk. But if it is too far then I have no choice but to board the bus or train or drive my own. But if I were at the town (Kuala Lumpur), I prefer to walk. The road usually jammed if we drive or using bus. And I don't want to stuck there for one or two hours when I can reach the destination faster by walking. Walk also good for your health. Happy mylotting and good morning.

Hi Novelis-117, I usually walk to my office, as it is very close to residence. Additionally, As i have no car, walking is very common to me. But as to your question, do i prefer walking or going by transportation, i will choose going by transportatin, as it is very conveinent and time-saved. Besides, in a rain day, going by transportation is better than walking with unbrella. happy mylotting!

I love walking or cycling every where I only use the bus/get lifts if I have to go further than I can walk/cycle. I cycle 6 miles every day (to work 3 miles and back again) and I really love it,it really wakes me up and it's suprising how much more of the world you see when your not cooped up on a bus or in a car

hi bwfc77 ya sure , it would be good going here and there by your own bike ,it sounds refreshing when the air is play with your face , but I can't imagine my self doing that coz there are a group of indians people do that in the roads with cars like they in india or something its so dangerous, but I guess they like it :)

i used to walk everywhere when i was younger just because i grew up in a small town and that was the way you got around town, to walk. now i live in a large city and have really bad knees, so i take the bus everywhere i have to go.

I like to walk when it is not raining or too hot. Exercise is good but I am also worried about the pollution from the vehicles that pass me by.

I prefer to walk when it is a short distance and the climate is not that hot. I don't want to walk in sun and get tans. I don't want to walk for a logn distance also. Walking is a good exercise. If I get chance to walk to my office daily, I can stop walkin in the terrace during evening time.

I like to walk if the weather is cold. But count me out if it is so hot. My husband knows that I don't like walking long distance. I still prefer to ride a cab, a rick whatever as long as I don't hurt my feet and struggle for hours of walking. But if you take that walking in a park, or amusement place, it is fine for me. But if it is in the side of the road and is very polluted, ooh my, Houston, we have a problem

It really depends on how far I have to travel. If it is only a short distance then walking is a better option as it is a lot more healthier than travelling on transport all the time. I might choose transport if it is really pouring down with rain because I don't like getting soaked, especially if it is cold. But when it is warm, travelling short or even long distances by public transport can be a nightmare. I got trapped on a bus the other day and the driver had left the heating on, and the bus was overcrowded! It was awful. I didn't have much choice but to stay on though because I was miles away from home. Sometimes buses are quite accomodating, but others can be really out-dated. Cycling is also good way of getting around.

To answer your questions make me feel confuse, cause walking and going by transportation is my part of a day. I work everyday by public transportation, and then sometimes i need to walk to get to my place. In my country very solid people who walk by and go with public transportation. So i enjoy my day with walking and going by transportation. I dont have a car..so i go by public transportation.. have a nice time:)

depend on the weather. i prefer walking in a sunny day, but of course going by transportation in a cloudy day. i live in indonesia now. and i think it is hard going by transportation in my country, partcularly in the city where i live. daily we face a traffic jam, too many car running in my city. sometimes i leave my car in my garagewhen i go to my office, so i have to use a public transportation. and new problem appears because the public transportation has a very poor services. then what should i do now? walking? too far, it is impossible. i don't know i still can't answer your question about prefer walking or going by transportation:)

I live in a rural area, so I don't have much choice but to drive when I want to go somewhere. Also, the local towns aren't set up for pedestrians - a few poor sidewalks and no bike lanes. I love being outside, though, so whenever I've lived in or visited places where walking is safe and reasonable, I do so and I enjoy it! I feel more connected to a place when I'm outside of the car, and I notice things I wouldn't if I were driving or riding public transportation. Also, it's a free work-out! I'm looking forward to living in a more walkable area in the future! :)
