Do you watch Movies in the Theatres, or wait for DVD?

I personally watch movies in the theatre, just because of the amazing screen and sound effects. I have just recently watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and since I don't want to be a movie spoiler, all i can say is it has lived up to my expectations. The characters, Ron, Harry, and Hermoine have gone up real fast, and they are literally adults now!
I feel it is worth the money to enjoy the movie in the theatres, because of the angle, sound, and just the point you will be concentrated. I don't know if it is just me, but if I watch it at home, I will be distracted, going to get some food here, go to the washroom in the middle, cook some food to eat, etc.
However, renting a movie is much cheaper, because usually at blockbuster, the most is $4.99 a movie, much cheaper than the price of the theatres, usually $10, and buying the popcorn and drinks can nearly double it!
Do you go to the theatres to watch movies, or stay at home to enjoy them at the comfort of your own home?

I used to go to the theatres every great once in awhile to see a movie. I used to like the atmosphere. I haven't been in years though because my boyfriend hates it. He says he always ends up with some kid kicking the back of his seat through the whole movie. I personally think that it's because he feels the need to constantly talk throughout the movie (annoying) and it makes people mad!

hmmm i love watching movies in theatres because of the effects .... mainly it depends on the quality of the movie .... if it is some centi or romantic movie i would watch in dvds ... but no comprise with action n horror flicks...

Actually ai like to watch movies in the theater because it feels fun and relaxing.
I only watch movies on the discs when my father rent them.
If I have to choose, I will pick the theater.

well as for me i have never been to the theatres so i really don't know wat it is like but i guess it is bcuz i have my own home theatre system...i mean i have sooo many DVD's i dnt watch all of them but i think it is nice to have them 4 urself n watch them at ur own leisurable time

Yes I watch movies in the Theatres but only when my best friend takes me and no I do not wait for dvd I download movies from the internet.

It depends on the movie. I mean if its an action movie or special effects movie, for example, Terminator 2, then I prefer to watch the movie in a theatre. However if its a romantic movie or drama then I prefer to watch the movie on TV. I mean the darkness and loud music won't make the movie more romantic. However since there is a difference in visual experience in watching an action movie on TV and on theatre. Another criteria is the quality of the movie. I tend to wait and read reviews etc about the movie before going to a theatre. Some of the theatres charge high price for a movie ticket and the food inside the theatres are overpriced by 200 to 300%.

Before my son was born my fiance and I would go to theaters to watch movies almost every month. Now its hard to get a sitter and have time for it. Also with all the expenses of diapers and other baby stuff its wiser to wait untill dvd comes out.

For me its depends for interest and needs each of us. Sometimes I am going to Cinema with many friends or my girl friend but I am often watching movies at home by DVD players. Many film with the background action or thriler is more comfortable if we watching in the theatres.

Personally, I would still want to watch movies in the theater. It is more real and the feeling is that you are a part of the movie. The sound effect is a whole lot better in the theater making it realistic and screen is a lot better thus enables you to enjoy the movie.

It depends on what movie
. I like classic and old-time movie so I buy a dvd. If it's hot movie and I have the books and my friend wanna watch it together and invite me, I will watch in the theatre. If I watch in Monday, I will get discount,,so I can watch in XXI only with 2$.. but if I watch in other day I must pay 3$-5$,,hehehe.. Yes, I agree with you! In theatre the sounds effect is good and the big screen plus the dark situation make me can focus to the movie. if I watch in my room, I will change my position every 5 minutes, take food, suddenly my brother knocked the door, etc..
But If I didn't really know the movie and just wanna watch to spend my time, I'll choose to buy a dvd.. it's cheaper^^,, and I can save it to be watched again if I want..

There are just some movies that are better watched in the big screen, for those cases I would rather spend time to go to the movie house. But it's not so bad to wait for some movies to be released in dvd, that would really save us a lot.

I see the good ones at the movies, like Transformers, Dark Knight, Iron Man, Terminator 4(which sucked actually) and such.. and the rest i just.. um.. obtain in another way

I prefer to wait until a movie is on DVD and watch it in the comfort of my own home. That way, we are able to rent multiple movies and the entire family can enjoy them a lot cheaper than it would cost for the entire family to go to the theater to watch one movie. Besides, in the theater, I cannot lie on the couch in my pajamas!

i love movies but i usually watch it on dvd... i hate it in theatre or movie houses, people are noisy and sometimes i cant understand what the story is, because there are watchers who are inside but just talk and talk not watching it. if i watched it on dvd i can understand it better and i can repeat the movie whenever i want to.

It depends on how good the movie is really....Theres no point on wasting your money on garbage movies which even director will refuse to see after a couple of times....but if its a good movie then i will surely go to the theater to see it....you are right that the sound ,ambiance,screen just makes up for whatever you spend....I recently saw transformers 2 at Imax and the experience was something i can't express in words.....everytime there was a fight the sound nearly made your heart jump out of our body....the whole 3d experience was awesome.....so if its a good movie ....you should always watch it in theatres ..

It really depends on a lot of things. The hype around the movie, whether I read the book first, what kind of movie it is, etc. Redbox rentals have dramatically changed my movie viewing because I can rent a move for a dollar (sometimes less I have a promotional code) and nobody cares if i watch it in my pajamas. I love watching movies in the theaters (can't beat those seats!) but they constantly seem to be raising the price. However, if a 3d movie is available it's definitely worth it!
