Man, I gotta stop doing that. So I got this excersize video that looked reall low impact and thinking, hey - I can do this.
So, it's still in the box with the shipping papers and I haven't even taken the plastic cover off yet.
You ever bought something and then never used it? How often do you do that? Do you remember what you were thinking when you just HAD to have it?
I don't.

Yes I have. That's why I am really trying to stop buying on impulse. Most of the time it's with clothes. I think something is way cute, but then I get it home and realize that I have nothing that goes with it. Well that's why you keep receipts and have yardsales.

I had to cut back on that too so only go shopping when I'm not in the mood so it has to be something that really jumps off the rack for me. Seems I'm more critical of buying something when don't want to be in the store in the first place. Thus far that's been working, well kind of until get online and Old Navy is having their big sales but am proud to say that's more shopping for the kids than for myself.

I never thought of that. Have a few pampered chef items that I'm unsure of what they're used for. Can't find the directions. Wonder what I'd list it as if went to Craigslist?
Here's a thingamabob for the kitchen, never used because don't remember what to use if for.

I can't say I buy many things that I do not use...BUT ...my mother on the other hand drives me insane with this problem. I moved away for 5 years and when I came back both of her sheds and her living room area was filled with boxes of stuff she ordered but did not want to open yet, or didnt have a need for it yet...or some other excuse. I made her open EVERTYTHING!!...lol...and use what she was going to use...what she didnt use I made her give to someone that could or would use it ;)

Oh wow. I feel better now because this was just one tape. A few pampered chef items in my kitchen that I'm still not sure of why I needed, but good for you for making her go throug it all.
I don't impulse shop often, but this tape really got to me. Maybe I'll open it back up and take a look peek.

Oh, I did, several times. It has something to do with a craving to have something like that, then not really something you'd use. For one thing, it could be the sets of knives I liked having but when I bought them, I found that if I put it in my the kitchen for the house-help to use, it'll be ruined, so I just keep it in my closet. hehehe.. weird, I know.

Ha, I do that all the time. Though I must say, these are things that I buy that I haven't used YET, but want to use eventually.
For example, I have over 3,500 books. I buy them like crazy. I order about ten a month from amazon, plus I'm in four book clubs that send them, I go to the thrift store and bring home bags, and I get them for free at the library from their discard pile.
yet of my 3,500 books, I've only read about sixty. Isn't that awful! I have books I bought six years ago that I had to have immediately, and they are still sitting unread. In fact, if I read two books a week, it would take me over 15 years to read them all!!! Yet I still keep buying them.
The other things I buy and don't use are video games. Again, I have games I bought ten years ago that I still havent' taken out of the wrapping.Though I have decided not to buy anymore, I doubt I will ever stop buying books. It is pathological. But that's just the way I am- when I like something, I guess I like it a lot!

Those exercise videos play right into getting you to make the purchase because they excite you through looking at great bodies on the television and thinking how EASY it is for you to look just the same in MOMENTS. Unfortunately, by the time the product arrives, reality has set in and you realize it is not going to be that easy. You are not the first and will not be the last to make such a purchase.
