True Blood

What do you guys think of the tv show True Blood? I love it! I watch it every week and I can never wait until the next episode. I guess it was made after a book (or maybe a series?) and I have heard that it is quite different than the show. Honestly I'm not much of a reader, but I am thinking of reading it sometime. Have you read the book? If so what do you think? Do you like the show or book better?

I haven't read the books, but I have seen some of the shows. I liked what I saw. I did hear that this season was a little raunchy. I have heard that the books are really good. I want to say the author of the books is Charline Harris or Harrison, but I could be way off on that.
