I am so happy today as my littlest man"Riley"learned to play today! I know that to most that this is not such a big deal- but in Rileys case it is: When I recieved Riley over 18 months ago he was in bad shape. He was three weeks old and had suffered serious head trauma. My sister had rescued him from a monster who had decided to euthanise him and his mother with a hammer-still enrages me when I think about it. By the time my sister knew what was going on Rileys mom was gone and Riley was alive but just. She couldn't afford the vet costs and I could. I couldn't resist his eyes or the love the little man gives unconditionally( he stole my breathe when I first held him in my arms) Riley had suffered multiple skull compression fractures and the vet did not hold out much hope. Even if they could control the bleeding and swelling of his brain he would never be "normal":( what normal is I have no idea- nothing in life is normal LOL) Any way Riley has had 3 surgeries and is motoring right along- he has strouble cornering and jumping. He has no depth perception and some of his earlier attempts at playing while funny where somewhat of a learning curve- for all of us!LOL but today he has mastered pouncing and then hiding and then pouncing again! He has a special mouse that I had made it emits noise and light to get his attention and allow hiim to follow it! The lights are just an added bonus! Then when he has caught his mouse because of the noise and light he can get it all over again. I seroiusly don't know who had more fun-Riley or me. This discussion isn't about money or response i just wanted to share my moment with my special little guy Riley!

I'm happy to hear about Riley. Our 3 week old kitten - now probably 3 1/2 weeks, is just starting the playing stuff. We got her a big dog toy, a duck and she cuddles with it (lays under the wing) and has been batting the wing too. She also plays with fingers and any cat tail that wiggles - much to the annoyance of the cat who's tail it is. Kittens give so unconditionally, I hope that EVIL man was reported to the ASPCA (or whatever it is where you are) and gets fined at the very least - that's not euthanasia - that's TORTURE!

Hi ElicBxn;} He recieved an 18 month probation sentence, $10,000.00 fine and is banned from owning animals for the next 10 years. Would you have suggestions to help Riley to improve his co-ordination skills? I am always on the look out for tips that will help my little guy! Thanks Charlene
