Potpourri: Fun with flowers, herbs and fragrances!

Herbal Garden - My garden has plenty of catmint which can also be diffused into a herbal tea.
My cats just adore this stuff. It's a perennial that will take over your flower bed if you don't keep it trimmed back!

There are probably many wonderful plants you could use to make tea, potpourri or even skin lotion. Roses are very common.
You can make your own herbal potpourri with the flowers of any fragrant bloom. The most commonly used is the rose petal. You can also use lavendaer, lemon-verbena, jasmine, marigold, violet, geranium, rosemary, lemon-balm, mint or thyme. Don't forget to gather more petals than what you will think you will need. They will shrink and make less than what you thought!
I have also used artemesia. I have lots of it growing around my yard. The kids always thought it smelled nice. It is a mild fragrance. I have many of these things growing in my yard, so it should be easy for me. I bet the marigolds are pretty because they are so bright, even if they are dried.
