I love the ocean I think it is beatiful. I honestly believe the ocean is a beatiful but dangerous place and people should not swim in the ocean. I think there are too many poisionous creatures and fish that can harm you it's really not worth risking your life. I love watching the movies about the ocean and seeing all the cool and neat looking stuff in the ocean. It is so breath taking. I enjoy every minute of it. The ocean is so unpredictable. Storms came come out of no where. I have heard of shark attacks that is a scary thought! Oceans are meant for sea creatures and fish not humans.

I live in Florida where we have oceans on both sides and lots of beaches. People comee from all over to visit our beaches and they wouldn't do that if the seashore was a dangerous place to be. First of all, storms don't come out of nowhere. Most boats have severe weather radios that alert you of storms and the lifeguards on the beaches also know when a storm is coming and will alert the folks on the beach. It's not dangerous to swim in the ocean because shark attacks are rare and so are attacks by other creatures. Swimming in the ocean is really a lot of fun!

I just went to Florida with my girlfriend and her familyy. It was a lot of fun. There were a lot of jellyfish however so i was a little freaked out about swimming in the ocean, but i found out that the little ones dont sting and thats all that was in the water so i relaxed more. Now i love Florida and i cant wait to go back!!!

I live in Florida too . I love the ocean and I am definitely not scared of it. It's a lot of fun. I wouldn't suggest that someone who isn't a strong swimmer to go deep in the water. I'm a strong swimmer, and I know what to do god forbid I get stuck in a rip tide...but swimming in oceans are fun.

No...In fact i love it...
When swimming in the pool, i fell that it lack suspense compared to when i'm swimming in the ocean.
A couple of times i almost being dragged by the current and drowned, but it just adds the excitement.
Too bad that i get sunburn easily despite the amount of sunblocks i applied, and that makes my wife forbid me to go to the beach.

hi dear friend, i love to be in water and to swim. i love to go on beaches and my outdoors and mostly planned around beaches and ocean area. i love it. yes, i will love to swim on a beach area and inside on behind the boundary that is marked to the people to swim. because it is safe too swim till that place. if you go more forward then you are taking risk and risking yourself. so i can swim and enjoy only upto a certain limit. not beyond it.

I can't swim, so I'm certainly wary of swimming in the ocean. I will wade in sometimes, but never more than waist deep.
The water in our area is very dirty, you can't see down in it. And the beach we go to is close to a pier where people fish, clean their fish, and toss the cleaned bits back into the ocean, so I know sharks are being attracted to the area.
I've never heard of shark attacks near our beach, but people have caught in rip currents and drowned, and jellyfish are quite common.

I can swim, but I am just not very good.
It must be very difficult for me to swim in the ocean.
I am really afraid of that.

Ocean is beautiful but can be really dangerous as well. You couldn't imagine how crazy the current can ahcnge and suck you into the deep water...
I am not afraid to swim in the ocean but I am alittle scared of swimming over my head, people can make any fun on throwing me into the water like kinda close to the shore but don't drag me all the way to where over my head... I really would freak out about it...

I'm only afraid of it if I see something bad in it. There have been many times where we have taken a boat out, anchored, and went swimming. I looooove doing that. The only time I have been afraid is when I saw a man-of-war jelly fish thing... those hurt. I've never seen sharks or any other scary creature in the water when I've gone swimming. It is so peaceful in the middle of the ocean. I'd like to learn to scuba dive. :-)
There is risk in anything you do.

I do love the ocean as well, my eyes enjoys the warmth of the sandy beach and the width of the blue ocean. But, i'm kinda afraid to swim down there because i feel pain every time i swim at the beaches.

I moved to beautiful, coast riddled maine ten years go from land locked nebraska, and i have only ever been in the ocean once (and that was in south carolina too boot!) I can't really say that it is because i am scared of anything in the ocean, i just do not enjoy the salt water at all...it burns my eyes, and i am not a big fan of waves either, but at least the water is clear. Now i do most of my swimming in lakes, but even that creeps me out..especially as the water isn't always clear and you can't see what you are in the water with..i get totally freaked out if a fish touches me..or even comes near me in the water. I supose a lot of thise comes from growing up in nebraska where we didn't have much in the way of lakes to go swimming in, and most swimming was done in nice, clean, chlorinated pools. I enjoy that much more!

I sure am afraid to swim in the ocean. First of all, I am not a very good swimmer. I do swimm once in a while at the swimming club where I am living. But, that's just the basic. Too far away from the skill and strength needed to swim in the ocean. And, secondly, I have never swam in the ocean. So, I don't have the experience at all. Yes, I do like watching the beauties of the ocean, beaches, waves, sailing boats !

Hello, i love the beach. I love swimming in the ocean at day time. But i don't swim far in the shore. I'm afraid to swim at night time also. The planks give me creeps when it touches my skin. I'm also paranoid when i swim in the ocean. Paranoid that foriegn fish will bite me. But the again i love the ocean! happy mylotting!

yes, i am so afraid to swim in ocean, even in swimming pool. Guess what? I do not know how to swim... Although my apartment have a swimming pool, but i never use the facility before. Maybe someday i should learn how to swim, it is better to learn one more skill, right ?

I too am afraid with oceans. I dont know who to float in deep areas, not even on pool. But I do love going in beaches. Its nice to refreah sometimes. I hope I can learn to swim. Aside from ot being able to float I am also scare that I might get to far and can go back or... if a shark comes in to get food.

I only swim in the swimming pool. i'm not so good at swimming therefore ocean for me is too deep to swim. Actually i'm afraid of sea water very much. The ocean is too deep to be clear and it's really dangerous . i appreciate those fishermen very much because they are so brave to go into ocean to catch fish . Strong storm and winds are everywhere in the ocean.
