Many large companies are pushing for a move to cloud computing. Some small and large business have switched. My old high school switched. Cloud computing means nothing runs on your computer. All applications would be in the 'cloud,' received through the internet in simplest terms. Google has many applications which are a move towards cloud computing and it is catching on quick. Google Docs including a word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation creator. Google Calendar. Google maps (used to be software you would buy at the store, one that didn't include a phonebook). Photo applications and editing being online. And an inbox you don't need to load up Outlook or AOL for.
One thing for sure is that our current infrastructure cannot support cloud computing. But if it could would it be a good switch? Have large servers handle out requests instead of a home computer. Would the cheaper computer pay off for the high internet prices in the future? Do you feel secure having large companies store all of you information and depending on their service? Does it make sense to have applications on your computer than can be handled by a website?

This is really a good concept. I just learned about cloud computing. This question was asked some 6 months before. I think, now a days, these concepts might be in use. How to check, whether an application is run at remote or local, i have so many such questions.
