Are you into strarting discussions?

Australia
August 4, 2009 4:04am CST
I've always been the person that would always like to reply to other discussions, not make my own. However I've had a change of mind these last couple of days and I want to make my own discussions and be able to read other peoples opinion on this. I also reply to the post to say thank you or what I think of there opinion. So what about you? Are you into starting discussions, or are you more of the person that is more comfortable to reply to discussions. I'd love to hear from you!

Yes I am. I am more comfortable in starting my own discussions than to respond to others, but of course I also do respond to other's discussions time after time. Actually starting a discussion already eat my time because of the responses I get, which is often a lot. That's why it will take me time to comment on all those responses. For me it is easier to comment on my own discussions since it's all about the same topic, not like in responding to others' discussions, which you need to deal with different topics. Aside from that, we also earn from commenting. So if you get a lot of responses and you manage to comment on all of that, it will simply means more earnings. And I also believe that we should do the things where we are comfortable with, and for me that is starting and commenting to discussions. I can't blame those people who don't feel to start their own discussions because they can't get a lot of responses. If that's the case, you should just better to respond to other's discussions. But in my case, I luckily often get a lot of responses to my discussions that's why I also need to make a lot of comments. I think the move that you make, which is now you like to start than to respond, is a good move. If you will be comfortable with it, then stick with it. Good luck! Happy myLotting!

I've known you to start many great ones with many responses. I appreciate you for making good straight forward discussions because it helps people think faster and help contribute better. You discussions also helping focus a lot of majority issues which is also good. It is easy to find if it is easy after reading but to formulate it is difficult. I give mad props for that. Hi doggyhouz! I have already read your response to one of phillip_shiny's discussions and I did comment on it. I appreciate so much the good words that you've said about me. This is another one. You are complimenting me again. I can't really believe that someone from another country is complimenting me that much. I am not really that good, especially in English language, that's why sometimes I can't hardly express what I wanted to say. You have the big advantage for being fluent in your primary language since you are from the United States. Actually I was just lucky to get many responses in my discussions most of the times. You can do better of course. Just do the advices that I have told you. To start general topics and to add more friends. Actually I am not spending a lot of time here in myLot, only few hours, specially these passed few days because I have been busy at work. I really enjoy myLot and I wanted to spend more time here but there are more important matters to deal with. Compliments like what you are giving can really take out the stress and makes people smile. Again, thanks a lot! I appreciate it. God bless you too! Happy myLotting!

I like you generally prefer replying to discussions then writing my own, and most of the time when I start a discussion it is something that my friends and I talked about and I want someone with a different point of view to sort of resolve the issue. Normally it has to do with movies or actors that were discussed on a movie night or something that was on the news. The problem sometimes with a close group of friends is that after a while your tastes and preferences start assimilating and you need someone from outside the group to give a breath of fresh air. That is why I like answering discussions and preferably not repeating what has been said because I also like getting different ideas on my discussions and in that way helping sort out a problem or idea.

i'm in both. i was the who likes responding to other discussion and also i was the one who creates or post my own discussion. you're right it is fun to post a discussion and read the respond of your co- mylotters. first i respond to other discussion then afterwards i post my own discussion, eventhough that not that many respondents i got, it very fun to read their responds to your discussion.

I've only started 2 discussions. Mostly I just answer others. Most of what I can think of to write doesn't come with a question attached, more like blogging than discussing. When I can think of something to discuss, its not usually something that other people care to talk about. I like random things.

Well you never know. Alot of other people love random things aswell, just like me. =) Never give up hope. Thanks for your response! =)

I'm a mixture of both. I don't have any specific target for the number of discussions answered and started. I just go along with my thought at the moment and whenever I feel like wanting to know a particular answer and get opinions on it, I'll post it. I use the term as and when. On some days, I could be spending time answering discussions actively while on others, I'll find myself scarcely answering and more to commenting on my own and stuff like that. I go by thoughts at the mo..

I'm into responding to discussions too. I think it will be much more fun that way, but sometimes I do post a questions too. Since I join mylot, I've writing a lot and somehow I feel addicted to it and also reading other people experiences and opinion makes me fill in my time goodly. I have a lot of spare time, but since I was addicted to this, I keep delay my work.

Yes, I am into starting discussions and at the same time responding to discussions. I like to comment on responses to my discussions. My daily target is to respond to atleast ten discussions and start three discussion. Most of the time I respond to around fifteen discussion per day, but start atleast one discussion per day, somtimes two or three.

Hi pweety_princess, I never think about starting a discussion but if one pops up in my mind I'll just post it. I actually find it much easier to respond back to responses on a discussion I've started than to find something to respond to. I'd say though that I respond to others discussions more often than starting my own. I am noticing though that there are less comments coming back from the topic originator which I don't like to see, if they are going to be bored with their own topic they shouldn't place it in the first place. The only hard part with ones own discussions is phrasing the intro line to grab attention, I'm always getting that bit wrong but am learning to keep that bit simple now to appeal to more people.

Thanks for your response! =) I'm just like you. I only really start a discussion if one pops up in my head that I am interested in.

I have not yet had the opportunity to start a discussion. I will do a search for the topics I have on my mind, and try to resurrect an older conversation rather than starting my own. There will be a time that I do start one, but I have not yet had the need. I do look forward to it, though. Choosing a best response may plague me, but still, I want to come up with the perfect topic, and I want over 100 responses to start.

Thanks for your response! =) It would be very very hard to get 100 responses to your discussion.

Well personally for me, I go thru spurts when I start a New discussion in here. I have to be in the mood to start a New discussion plus I have to have something I feel worth starting a New discussion about as well. With the high number I have most of it comes from posting back to others discussions, but it is Fun to start a New discussion from time to time to see how others feel as well.

I really don't start that many discussions, as I would rather post responses to discussions. I have started a few discussions, some got more responses than others, and I find it easier to respoond to discussion than start discussions, as it takes a lot of thinking to come up with a good discussion, and most of the time, my mind is a total blank. When I respond, the words seem to flow on the page and sometime I just go on and on and before I know it, I have writen more than I thoght I would. I really do enjoy posting though as I like hsaring my views with others. That is what it is all about is being able to share with others without fear of ridicule. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Thanks for your response! =) It is true. I also find it that my mind is totally blank when I actually want to start a discussion for a change.
