Why do elephant have big ears..

If I remember correctly they're filled with blood vessels which allow them to act as giant radiators to help cool the animal.

Hi homeshoppers, I don’t know whether my reply is based on logic but I will tell you what I have heard from my grandfather in my childhood. Elephant is the biggest animal in the land. The Creator created every living things purposely and giving special abilities for self protection (here I meant animals only). The big ear of elephant prevents them to see its own body (preventing to realize how large I am) and if the elephant knows the size, it won’t be obedient to the human beings (human beings are very small in size comparing to elephants). This guessing may be comes by the way human beings used this big animals for their own benefits like pulling the large tress/logs and many other works. In my personal opinion it may helps to cool their body.

Well as i think, They have big big ears, maybe of many reasons.. Keeping them warm.. Can hear far away sounds... Just for fun :P well thats what i think about them WITHOUT USING ANY SEARCH ENGINE :D
