Hi friends, here in India I have learned that they do not only put salt in frying fish. Sometimes they do put, chili powder, salt and turmeric powder. Just spread it in the fish, let it marinate for 15 minutes, or depending on your liking. I also like to put RAWA, it is also from India. It does do great work because you won't get scared of hot oil after your skin when frying. What do you include in your fish when you fry? I would be happy to hear you share your ideas and some tips.

There are many recipes for cooking fish and I guess different type of fish need to be cooked with different ingredients in order to enjoy it. Cod fish is the king of fish here where I live and there are many different recipes. I use salt and pepper as main ingredients. We use salted pork fat to cook it in and actually cut the fat into tiny cubes and fry it until it is brown and hard. Some people like to boil the fish and glaze it over with some butter. Stuffing fish and either baking it or bbqing it popular as well. I sometimes bake a few pieces with just lemon juice sprinkled on it. I'd rather fish than meat.

Yes, different fishes needs different types of cooking. Some fishes are not good for frying while some only can taste better when baked. Thanks for this useful tips.

Thank you so much for the BR. Tonight I had cod fish baked with potatoes, cream, onions, salt and pepper. It was delicious, even have enough left over for a meal tomorrow. Too bad you're so far away, I'd invite you come by for a meal.

In most cases, I usually marinate the fish with soy sauce and a little vinegar. Put some salt and pepper. That is the usual thing that I add on when I am frying the fish, or even when I am grilling the fish. I also add some lemon juice.

I add lemon juice so it won't stick to the pan and adds to it's flavor. This would also help for preserving the fish as a whole and not be tearing a part.

if it is fillet and i know that it will stick on my frying pan i put flour. i put water on the flour and salt and pepper. i make it as a very sticky mixture that will hug the fish fillet and so it will be fried very crunchy and wont stick my fish on the frying pan. when it is not fillet i put salt and pepper. my sister puts lemon and a little sugar.

Thanks for your response. I have tried using flour also so that oil would not be splashing much.

I lived in India for a year and have tried the fried fish with masala and I like it. Normally when I fry fish I just put salt and pepper and just add a bit of butter in the fry pan.

I have never fried the fish with salt. Most of the time, i use the sesame oil to fry the fish, just because i love the taste of it. And also i will add ginger root into it, it is said that the ginger will cover the smell of fish. Then i eat the fried fish with the soy sauce ( i normally put the green chilli into it). This is how i eat the fish. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

hello there! I will put ajinomoto or vetsin for it so with salt. After that I will put soy sauce and garnish with cornstarch or put some fish powder flavor to have it crispy to eat after the frying of it. It is so yummy and delicious to eat specially if it is eaten right after was done. I'm sure you will love it too.
