What will you do if you see a thief stealing?

Hi All,
Imagine in real life if you saw a thief stealing some items what will you do. I will ask him not to steal otherwise I'll call the police.
What will you do if you see a thief stealing? Will you cry 
out or just keep silent or go home and sleep
?

to be honest....i'd probably run so far away so he/she couldn't steal from me =p
i might call the cops only at a fair distance =D, don't wanna get caught in the drama
