From time to time, I try to invite friends, officemates, some relatives to join as my referral on mylot. Here are 10 of the most used rejection lines I often receive:
10. Join My what????
9. I'm not into chatting and discussing.
8. $ 0.01 for every discussion and response? Payout would take me years.
7. I don't have a computer at home.
6. I don't have a Paypal account.
5. Sorry, I'm not that interested.
4. I don't have Internet at all.
3. I don't have good English.
2. I'm always busy and can't do such thing.
1. Is that a scam site?

Wow, when i am about to invite someone to join, which is my classmate which i know do use computer at work, this is the rejection lines: How did you know that site and is that really pays you?, I am afraid that in years of being there, they will charge us for being a member, I will join later, but will think of it because i am not allowed to open some site if my boss is in the office.
In that rejection i replied, okay because i have no proof yet that this site pays to me because i haven't reach the minimum payout yet, i hope you will join in the future.

Hi glesil, don't worry, mylot really pays. Maybe when mylot has paid you already your friend will change her mind and join in. LOL

Maybe she will change her mind, but if not, its okay. I admired your intuition. You've guess that my classmate was a girl by using that girly pronoun "her".
I know she may have doubt about this kind of money earning online because she haven't have any site that pays yet.
She do not have yet enough information and knowledge about earning online.
I am not worrying that mylot will not pay and i trust this site like i trust the other social networking site that pays me.

Well, these are some pretty good ones and ones that I have heard quite a few times here as well. Considering I have been a member of myLot now almost 3 yrs. even when you do get a Referral of someone you know, the hardest thing is to keep them active in here. Most people think it takes too long to ever reach payout or this site is not worth the time spent in here so they often leave to do other things. But I guess we can never quit trying as sooner or later we might find the ones who will keep active and keep this site going more as well.

Hi KrauseHome. I agree with what you said. I guess people want to earn money as fast and as easily as they could. But when you're having fun here in Mylot, you'd never notice how many you've already posted in a day. LOL

Yeah, we really can't insist other to join if they don't want to. But we all know it's fun here in mylot and it's definitely not a scam.

I couldn't agree more with Number 1. That's the most used rejection line. People would lean more on the scam side than on the legit side. People need a loooooot of assurance to make them join you. As for you to me, if you have joined, tell me your username so i can give you all the support you may need.

We have to come up with some rebuttals for these.
10. Describe briefly what mylot is, explain they will get paid for being active in an online community. If they have a topic they are passionate about, you can explain they will get commission for commenting on that, and bringing their cause attention.
9. You can make good friends on mylot, and see what interests other people have that you may also. It's not like a chat room, but a very open discussion area, where you learn from others, and get to teach others. Getting paid at the same time does not hurt.
8. The pennies add up, especially if you refer others.
7. You can use the library computer. (You can where I live for an hour at a time for free). That is enough time for ten good discussions a day.
6. I would explain the ease in using paypal and bring up its association with ebay. That is a reputable company, and people know of ebay.
5. I would ask what would make it more interesting? You may not get this person as your referral, but will be able to learn another rebuttal from it.
4. I would even invite them to use my puter at my house, as long as we affiliate our accounts. There is an area to fill out when you share a computer with someone.
3. The best way to learn a language is to use it. This will help sharpen your English skills.
2. Allow one hour a day to learn and engage in some great conversation.
1. It has been online for years with people reported being paid. If you don't believe me, I will show you when I get my first payout.

Everyone I've tried to refer to MyLot always sign up but NEVER post! So it's pointless me asking my friends and family. I've got several referrals whom have NO posts. You can imagine its quite frustrating, and i get "It's probably a scam site," alot of the time, but of course i know it ISN'T because they've PAID me.

Yes, I have heard many of those excuses too. I think the most common excuse is that they are "just not interested".
Anyhow, I am fortunate that I do have 1 "real life friend" and 1 "online buddy" that signed up under me. One of them always participates on myLot and the other one does off and on. I am grateful that I even have 1 referral let alone 2. I also have a few others that signed up under me but they have NEVER participated on myLot and it has been a year or more for them.
I just keep trying to get referrals and you never know - I just might get lucky one of these days!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!
